Favorite go-to kid activities

I'm home this week with DS.

He's 5.

What are your favorite go-to activities?

Not looking to break the bank.

I want to take him to the aquarium one day. (ILs will probably join).

Also thinking mini-golf.

Would prefer to reserve beach/fire island for when DH can join because the water makes me nervous.
Same with going to the city since DH wants to join for that as well as legoland....

We also are going to the Marvel show next weekend so that's a "big" thing.

Is Jungle Bob's Reptile World worthwhile? It came up on another search of things to do.

Jungle Bob is awesome. We saw him at a free park event recently and he was just great!

Adventureland if he likes rides (they offer a special needs discount, and I apologize if I'm wrong in that your child has sn's)

Lots of parks are hosting free movie nights in the evening with the big inflatable screens.

LICM (I got buy one get one free coupons at the library recently)

Check Groupon, I've seen a lot of kiddie friendly places recently.

We have been to FI twice this Summer (Sailor's Haven), and I go solo with my 2 kids. We love it, they love it. They love going on the sunken forest trail. We aren't "swimmers" in the ocean, we just hang out on the shore, splash, jump the waves, sit, etc. and don't really go past our knees, so it doesn't scare me.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I always forget about Groupon.

I think my ILs want to take him to Adventureland so I'm going to hold off. Also family work at LICM so we can go there whenever.

Check with your local library for free programs.

Mine offers a museum/attractions pass for free admission to several on LI.

Mine also offers discounted tickets to the aquarium.
