Re: Whats your favorite Kid friendly Disney Restaurant
We were there in May with our DD#1 who was almost 3, and DD#2 who turned 1 on the trip, we also took DD#1 on her 1st trip in Sept 2008 when she was 15 months old - these where the places that were the best:
This is where we ate:
Chef Mickey's - Character dinner- With mickey and friends
Crystal Palace- lunch 1st trip - Dinner for DD#2's 1st birthday - Pooh and friends
Akershus - if you have a girl I would highly recommend it! We did the Princess Storybook dinner - instead of the Castle (I didn't want to spend the extra dining credits this trip and we will do it next trip when the girls are a bit older) This was a GREAT meal - it is buffet for appetizers then a plated entree (you pick off of a list) and a plated dessert for the table. Under 3 eat free. You get to take a family photo with one of the Princesses (we got Belle) and you get the photo for free. Then 4-5 princess come around to your table - we got Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Snow White and Aurora. I would definitely do it again. They have breakfast and lunch meals as well. It is in Norway at EPCOT - most of the little girls came in princess dresses or princess garb.
Biergarten - EPCOT- we didn't love it in the past but it was a BIG hit with our girls. It is like eating outside in at beerfest (it is indoors though) - They have a big stage with a large dancefloor - the girls were begging to get up and dance. All the children were up and dancing. It is a buffet so under 3 are free.
Coral Reef is great - Large fish tanks to keep the kids interested. Ask to sit near the tank it was worth the extra wait.
Marrakesh -EPCOT- we didn't do it this past trip - but we did on DD#1's 1st trip and she loved it! They have music and a belly dancer and the children get up and dance on their dance floor. There are things like vegetable couscous and fillet mignon shish kabob if you are not adventurous eaters. As well as other traditional dishes.
San Angel Inn - in Mexican pavillion at EPCOT- you can watch the boats float by and then go on the ride if the kids get fussy when you are finished. We ask for a table near the water and the girls wave at the people on the ride. It is like eating in an outdoor market - really good margaritas help...
Ohana - at the Polynesian - great to do if you want to go to the MK at night or go after you have been in the parks. Lots of fun - family style (under 3 are free) They have a lot of activities for the children - a- coconut races, limbo, hula lessons, etc.
Sci Fi Drive In - HS - you sit in cars and eat as if you are watching a drive in movie - there is a huge movie screen - DD#1 loved it and DD#2 (after she woke from her nap - she slept thru 80% of the meal) loved it too. The food is eh - but they have good burgers and shakes - our waiter was from Merrick...
We also ate at Liberty Tree tavern which is family style (turkey, ham, mac and cheese, etc) it was very family oriented and great when we wanted a quick sit down meal in the MK so we could have fun that night in the park. They used to do character meals but they discontinued them.
We were supposed to eat at 1900 Park Fare - but the girls were tired from the flight down and then we were going to eat there on DD#2's birthday for breakfast but we decided to spend the time in the parks instead - They have a nice Mary Poppins and friends breakfast and and nice Cinderella and friends (Cinderella, Prince Charming, Wicked Stepmother and step sisters) buffet dinner at the Grand Floridian.
There is a character meal with Little Einsteins in HS at Hollywood and Vine that many people enjoy.
If you stick with any of the 1 credit table service restaurants you should be fine - the above I liked only b/c they have things for the children but if you stick with the 1 TS credit places they are all very family friendly (the 2 ts ones are too but some more so than others).
The 1st trip with DD#1 we also ate at Les Chef de France and enjoyed it - but there wasn't much for her.
Japan has a fun habaci restaurant like bennihana's if you like that sort of thing - I was concerned about the grills at the table which is why we didn't try it.
Italy has a nice restaurant and they are opening soon a wood burning pizza restaurant sometime soon. The menus for it is on www.allearsnet.com

Re: Whats your favorite Kid friendly Disney Restaurant
Garden Grill at Epcot - Chip & Dale character meal (not a buffet either)
1900 Park fare at Grand Floridian
Crystal Palace at MK
We just came back from Disney last week and I have to say, I was really unhappy with Chef Mickey this yr. We had gone there the last 2 yrs and thought it was good but this time, the food was terrible, the service was rush rush and the characters were REALLY fast at the tables.
Tusker House at Animal Kindgom- Character breakfast that was really good.
50's prime time cafe at Hollywood studios

Whispering Canyon is a fun resturant. Everynite it changes. The waiteers and waitresses are dressed as cowboys. They are more like actors then waiteers. For example some of what goes on in the restaurant is when you ask for ketchup, EVERYONE in the restaurant brings their ketchup to your table so you end up literally with like 50 ketchups on your table. When you ask for straws they throw 20 of them on the table. The served my dh soda in a huge jar instead of a glass. They have all the kids in the place do the hockey pockey in the middle of dinner. Last time i went, they gave all the the kids fake little horses and they raced around the restuarant. Its very fun. Plus the food was delicious. Its mostly bbq food, ribs, chicken, beans, potatoes. My 6 year old ds ATE all his food that night. That was a shock in itself. I highly recommened it. Fm me if you want anymore details
