favors for hospital visitors- went with the rock candy
When we had DS we had a cute basket filled with favors- we had blue candles wrapped in tulle for the woman and personalized golf balls (with DS's name) for the men. I know DH wants to do the golf balls again, the problem is we still don't have a name with only 5 weeks to go. So I think we'll have to hold off until after the baby is born and he'll give them out to his close friends and uncles. This time I'm not sure what to do. I'm thinking maybe just something cheap since it's only a little token. I found these teddy bear cookie cutters and they're only $.59 each. The other option I love is these hot cocoa packs with whisk, but they would be closer to $2 each. I could hold off on the hot cocoa for DS's 1st bday party since I know I want to do a Winter One-derland theme.
ETA- Or I could do rock candy lollipops and wrap them in blue bags/cellophane?

I've never heard of hospital favors but what a great idea!
I love the idea of hot cocoa if it's not too much money. How many visitors are you expecting? This is my first so I have no idea.

I would probably order 50 or so. I would assume we will have atleast 30 couples/visitors of just our family and close friends.

That will add up quick!
I'm lucky if I get 10 visitors.

Just with our parents, siblings and aunts and uncles that's 21 people right there. DH has a BIG family. And that's not counting cousins or friends! So I think I'm leaning towards doing the rock candy lollipops and giving one per person. I can get a box of 72 for $30.

Re: favors for hospital visitors
OMG I would die if I had that many visitors! I told my husband I only want immediate family and even that is starting to freak me out!
But those are such lovely ideas! You are very thoughtful!!

Re: favors for hospital visitors- went with the rock candy
So I decided to go with the rock candy. I was able to order 72 wrapped swizzle sticks for $38 with shipping. I'll tie them with blue ribbon and give one per person. Done deal!
