Feeding a picky eater and going to the Carribeans?
DS will only eat the Gerber Toddler graduate tray foods and Dole fruit bowls. "Some" fresh products.
I want to go to the Carribeans for a vacation. I am just worried about the food.
Can I bring food with me in the plane for the trip? I know that seems insane. But what would he eat?
Any BTDT moms/ Or moms of younger kids eating jar food?

We cruised when Christopher was 8 months old and I checked a big bag (actually a triple ziploc bag) of jar food within one of my checked bags.
Can you do something like that? Or ship it before hand?

Can you get a room with a microwave? You could see if you can bring the Gerber trays, not sure if the airline would allow it or not. I would think you could bring jarred food no problem. Last time we flew with DS that's all he was eating.
We went to Montauk not long ago and lived on pizza because this is something he will reliably eat. Will he eat things like bread, cheese, or any fresh fruit? I would think they are all easy to get where you are going.

I guess if you can bring jars you should be able to bring sealed food containers?
He won't eat pizza, french fries, cheese, bread, etc... You know, all the stuff the other kids eat.

Is this a cruise or a land trip? We went on a cruise and I brought all of her baby food when she was 6 months.

Check with the airline, but I don't see why you can't pack a bag with sealed food containers, especially if you check it. I know they are funny about liquids so don't know about the fruit.
But last time I flew, we had baby bottles and jarred food on the plane with us, no problems.

We went to Turks and Caicos when Jake was one. He was eating table food but only certain things and I was afraid that he would have a hard time there. We packed a bunch of stuff and just put it in our checked suit case. Gerber fruits and a few Graduate items. It was fine that way.

Re: Feeding a picky eater and going to the Carribeans?
Sophie I would check with the laws of the county you are going to - I know on cruises a number of the countries do not allow you to bring in food and there are dogs as go off of the port to ensure you don't bring in food (so if you are on a ship you can't bring food off of the ship). I have no idea if that is the case with where you are looking to go - but that could be an issue if you bring it in your luggage or carryon (not sure you would allowed to get it passed security.
You might be better to consider cruising where you can either bring his food onboard (some cruise lines will even have baby food if you let them know in advance so they might be able to get you his toddler meals) or they will even make you special meals for children if you contact them in advance. This way you can feed him on the ship and not worry about the particular policy.

Re: Feeding a picky eater and going to the Carribeans?
What about keeping some of those trays and bringing them with you and then putting the food from the resort on them?
We are going to the Bahamas in Nov. and this is the biggest worry for me. I guess they will just have to eat whats there or not eat. I am not going to go nuts because I know they won't starve.
