Re: feeding cereal to a 4 month old
I will be honest- I never measured it. I would make what looked like a small amount and let her eat what she wanted.
According to my ped, I was supposed to start with a couple of teaspoons and end up with a couple of oz. Now I do about 1/4 cup mixed with fruit for breakfast at 6 months.
ETA: Good to hear from you Laura- how is it going???

I also never measured it. I started with a small amount and then just kept increasing it.

Re: feeding cereal to a 4 month old
The first time I started with 1 tablespoon. Now I give 2-3 tablespoons. Sometimes she eats it all and wants more. Other times she barely finishes. She is 5.5 months old.

I think I used the directions on the back of the box, 1 tablespoon mixed with formula/breastmilk. It was super runny. She didn't eat very much at first, maybe 1/2. I found she liked it better a little thicker. We slowly increased to 2 Tfro breakfast. Now she eats 2T two times a day at 6 months.
