Feeding therapy for 3 month old
Hi Everyone, My son was born six weeks early with a soft cleft palate. We are receiving speech/ feeding therapy. He uses a special nipple to drink from and at times it was frustrating. His therapist has come about 3 times and she is nice. The first time she gave pointers, swaddle him, have him suck 3x then break and basically just watched me feed him. She did some stroking of his face on her own. Now she just sits and watches me feed him. It's sort of uncomfortable since I try to make conversation with her and in the back of my mind Im wondering what she is suppose to be doing. I know he is young but we did qualify for her so I feel that she should be doing more but Im not sure what. Im having her come on a day when DH is home so she can help him since he gets frustrated feeding him. However after that where do we go? She is suppose to help him with using a spoon but his adjusted age is 7 weeks so I know that will not be introduced for a while. Anyway thanks for reading all this.

Re: Feeding therapy for 3 month old
Our feeding therapist would feed my DS and then tell me techniques to do to help him. And then I would feed him at then end of the session. It was more helpful once we did spoon feedings with introduces textures ect.

This is what our therapist does as well.
