Feeling so overwhelmed... I want to cry!!

We just moved last sunday and I feel like things are moving at a snails pace. Im 37 weeks tommorow... I'm doing what I can with the unpacking/organizing but I get tired and crampy SO quick!Chat Icon

My mom is in la la land and didnt even offer to come help me (meanwhile I call her whining about it in order to instigate a response.. NOTHING!! SMH)
My poor hubby works 6 days a week and I dont want him to come home and have to unpack.

Everything is a DISASTER, you can barely walk through the apartment without tripping... I look at all the boxes/bags and want to scream!!Chat Icon Chat Icon OH AND to add to all this stress the Dr. said im a fingertip dialated yesterday and cervix is soft... her exact words "I dont think you'll make it to 40 weeks"... GREAT! So I may have LESS time than I thought!

sorry for the rant, just have no one else to talk to except myself and I'll go crazy lol. Thanks for listening.... My advice, NEVER MOVE @ 36 weeks pregnant.

The end.

Can you flat out ask your mom for help? Any siblings (your's or DH's) that can help? Any friends you'd be willing to ask for help?

There's only so much you can do so don't be afraid to ask for help...

PS... we have the same due date, only I have a schedule c-section for the 24th bc my LO is apparantly lackin a sense of direction... he's BREECH!!!

You'll get it done! Take a little at a time. Can you ask a friend or your mom for some help?

My mom own her own business and has to be there most of the time so I get it, but like today is Saturday (she's closed) why cant she come help?Chat Icon She has the whole week off next week (her one week a year) and she is not going anywhere that I know of so hopefully she will come help... I COULD flat out ask her but I feel like I'm begging... shouldnt she freaking offer?!? But then again I planned my whole shower alone so this doesnt surprise me!!

My brother who is a year younger than me is SUPER helpful but he has part 2 of his CPA exam (accounting) on Monday so I cant ask him this weekend but he promised he would help after his test is overChat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks for the Chat Icon though... so for sure your going for the section? NO way they think he'll turn??

At this point, esp bc of what your OB said about not making it to 40 weeks, I would just beg your mom... who cares how you look... you need the help. Should she offer? - of course. But people hardly ever do what they SHOULD do, ya know?

Yeah, this kid is so tucked up under my ribs you can litterally see his round head poking out. He's already a stubborn Irishman. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Moving is tough...
but at least you will have yourself in a better space.

My advice: take your DH and pick 1 day and dedicate it to unpacking & organizing. Put on some music, order some pizza, get some beer for him and root beer for you, take pictures of you preggo move into the new place & make it into a party.

As for your potential due date: I was so excited to be 1 cm dilated & 50% effaced... at 36.5 weeks... until I spoke to some experienced moms, midwifes and OBs. You can be that way for 1 month. I was worried about making it 1 week :) True as day... here I have a half a week later with NOTHING. So... you have time.

Re: Feeling so overwhelmed... I want to cry!!

Moving is tough, I remember when DH & I did it last- yikes!!

Just do one room at a time. First I did all our clothing- hanging it in closets, folding it in draws. That was a lot of the mess. Filling our kitchen cabinets took alot of mess up off the floor as well.
Wish I could help you!! So sorry you are super prego & unpacking around the clock!!

Re: Feeling so overwhelmed... I want to cry!!

A fingertip dilated and soft really means NOTHING. With my first I was exactly that at 35 weeks and was still induced in my 40th week.

With this past pg, I was at 3cm and soft and sat like that for 3 weeks.

My point is to not worry about going into labor early- chances are you won't.Chat Icon

Eventually, you'll get everything unpacked. It might take until the baby is 3 months old, but it WILL eventually get done. Start with all the essential things for the baby and make sure you have your bag packed. Then, get your bedroom in order- as you'll likely be spending lots of time there after you get home from the hospital.

Everything else can be put off until later if you really needed to.Chat Icon

First of all Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Just know that whatever it is.. you WILL get through it one way or another! You may have to just accept the fact that not everything will get done as planned.. or exactly how/when you wanted it to .. You might have to develop a plan b .. .but somehow you will develop a system! Maybe you can have a friend come help you out!

When the baby is there I'm sure nothing else in the world will mater!!! Chat Icon

Thanks Everyone... I feel a little better knowing that she might not be here early afterall.

I just talked to my brother yesterday and he promised he is coming on Wednesday (after his exams) to help me out.Chat Icon

The good news is I DO have the crib put together... so at least she'll have a place to sleep.

I feel your pain, and once your sweet baby is here you will not even care about those boxes anymore. We moved when dd was 3 months old. Two months after she came home from the nicu. Our house is still full of boxes, and we have been here for a month. You do what you can, when you can. When dd isn't sleeping at night, during the day I nap instead of unpacking. We do what we have to do, to survive. It will all work out in the end. Please don't stress too much. I know how much it makes you want to pull your hair out, but you need to take it easy.

Re: Feeling so overwhelmed... I want to cry!!

Oh that does sound hard. . literally moving can make you cry if you DONT have any pressure or hormones and it can be overwhelming. . sorry your mom does not step in to help like you would like - that must be frustrating as well. .

I agree just take it a little bit at a time and I really wouldn't be afraid to ask everyone you know to help! Send an email to friends saying you'll buy the dinner if they can spare even an hour or just do the high priority things! I know that's not perfect since you may not want everyone in your stuff and you still need to direct but. .
