Does the transfer hurt? Is it like an IUI?

Re: Fertilization report
its just uncomfortable b/c you need a full bladder. literally takes 5 min. with mine I was able to see on the screen them take the embryo from the lab area and transfer through the cathether and watch them place it into my uterus. its pretty wild!
not painful at all though.

You need a full bladder? They never told me this at my transfers. I always peed first.

I guess it depends on the practice but mine is requiring it.

They prefer a full bladder because it helps them view your uterus better when placing in the embryo. I am actually very surprised your Doctors haven't had you do that?

Does the transfer hurt? Is it like an IUI?
As PP said, the full bladder is more uncomfortable than anything else. I learned a lot from my first IVF cycle. A full bladder doesn't mean pee in your pants full. It means have a few glasses of water and then wait. I almost peed on my doctor the first time.... LIKE LEGIT all I could think about was not peeing on the doctor.

Haha yes, I agree with this! I was expecting that I had to have this super full bladder. When the nurse asked me how I felt in terms of drinking enough water I said well I don't feel like I'm dying and need to pee and she said well we don't want that and then she checked me with the ultrasound and said I was perfect. I had drank about 30 ounces within the last 45 minutes prior.

How did it go?????
Here is my update :)
***update transfer 3/8/16
The transfer went really well!! I had the one embroyo implanted into my uterus and it was a grade 2 which the doctor said is good. It was very emotional watching the whole process on ultrasound. I actually could see the embroyo being placed inside my uterus! Amazing!! Now lots of prayers that it sticks :)Chat Icon
They did say that I only had 4 eggs left not 7 frozen because 3 weren't mature! But I don't care about the frozen eggs right now! I'm just soo overjoyed with this little embroyo inside right now :)
