FET embryo thaw concerns

After my failed IVF cycle, DH and I wanted to do another fresh cycle in the hopes that we'd end up with a couple more frosties (I only have 1 right now) to bank. Exhausted thinking about all the appointments, injections, and stress of a fresh cycle, we decided to do a FET, and use our remaining frosty.

I'm nervous that since I only have 1, they will thaw it out, it won't be good, and the cycle will be a waste. The Dr said the chances of this are about 5%, but I'm nervous. They wouldn't have frozen it if it wasn't good, right? When I told them I wanted to change my protocol, they didn't even blink, so now I'm second guessing myself.

I feel like all of my eggs are (literally) in one basket, and I was trying to AVOID stress by making that decision Chat Icon

FET embryo thaw concerns

I just did an FET and the first one they thawed was perfect. They didn't freeze everything that fertilized, only what made it to that day. It has helped me cope each cycle knowing that the odds are in my favor. I would say if it has a 95% chance of surviving the thaw those are great odds and definitely in your favor. Go with you gut - it sounds like you needed the break. An FET cycle was definitely like a vacation after a fresh cycle. I couldn't have done two in a row.

Thanks for the support ladies. I do feel much more relaxed since I made the decision. I literally changed my mind at the last second- I was supposed to start stims on Mon.

Youre right. They wouldnt have bothered freezing it if it didnt have a good chance of surviving!! Good luck!!!!
