FET Question for those that pay out of pocket
I have one IVF attempt left on my insurance, but we are holding onto that in case I need to do another fresh transfer.
If anyone did a FET out of pocket, can you give me a rough idea of what it cost? You can FM me if you don't want to put it here.
TIA!

I'm glad you asked this - I was wondering the same thing.

Re: FET Question for those that pay out of pocket
Ours was $2400 - before meds.
The only meds I needed though were:
-BCP (free sample from RE or $5 copay from insurance) -Lupron ($99 from Schrafts) -Estrace ($5 copay from insurance) -Baby Aspirin (OTC) -Doxycycline ($5 copay from insurance) -Progesterone supps (mine were $1 each)
The Estrace and doxycycline are usually covered by insurance (even though we didn't have IF coverage) because they are not specifically for infertility).
GOOD LUCK! We got pregnant from our second FET, so if you have any questions, feel free to FM!

Wow! Thanks! We were thinking it would be in the ballpark of $4-5k. I'm not too concerned about the meds because I have a separate plan for prescriptions.
Were you on Lupron for a FET to supress ovulation? I didn't realize that injections other than the PIO were part of a FET cycle. I guess it makes sense though

Oh, I totally should have mentioned that this was a "medicated" cycle - my RE prefers doing medicated cycles so he can control when everything happens. The whole process is 6 weeks, so I was literally able to pick my exact transfer date (I got to choose a vacation day one time and a Friday another time).
Yes, Lupron was to supress ovulation and basically they recreate your body's natural cycle with the medications. Estrace builds your lining and the PIO or suppositories make your body think it has ovulated.
