fetal heartbeat question
When you ladies go for checkups, is your baby's HB rate always about the same or does it vary?
I just got home from my 28 wk appt. and her rate was in the 130s. I know that this is a normal rate, but every other time I have been to the doc it has ranged from the 150-160s. I noticed right away that it was slower than it typically sounds, but the doc totally brushed it off saying the fluctuation is normal.
Am I just being paranoid?

Re: fetal heartbeat question
The baby's heartrate varies throughout the day depending on activity level, etc. It's normal.

Re: fetal heartbeat question
my sono at 21 weeks it was 112..which is the lower side of normal. they had me go for a follow up b/c of it. however, little guy was being difficult that sono and wouldnt move..so i guess he was comfy.
at my dr. visit a few days later it was fine on the doppler.
and at the follow up sono this week it was 128 at the beginning and at the end it was 158. so it will vary during the day and if the baby is comfy and resting it will be lower.

Re: fetal heartbeat question
Ah, that makes me feel better. Now that I think about it, I usually go to the doc in the afternoon, but today I went at 9 AM. Maybe that's the difference.
I guess since I was doing the glucose test today I figured she would be bouncing off the walls after I drank that sugar drink.....maybe I just need to chill and stop driving myself crazy!
Thanks ladies!

Re: fetal heartbeat question
My dr told me it varies by time of day as well - and it does get slower as you go along in pregnancy.
At my ultrascreen, hb was 173. Last week at my appt, it was in the 150s.
