fetal heartbeat rate at 6 weeks
Been bleeding today off and on and I am on vacation so I had to go to the ER. Bloodwork is normal and the sack, fetal pole, and heartbeat were all there. The hb rate was 88 and the ER doc said that is low but a good sign that there is a hb...at week6 day 1 should I be worried that he said its low?

im surprised they even told u the hb rate. when i had my sono done they just told me it was present and did not measure the bpm. they measured it the following week..
a hb is an excellent sign!!!!

I just had a second sono today because I had some spotting over the weekend. The tech didn't tell me what the bpm were but I know she measured it because she told me.
It could be slower because at 6 weeks the heart has just started beating.

we had a sono at 6 weeks, but they just said it was present, no measuring. We went again and today at 7w1d they measured.
I agree with the PP about having a HB is a good sign.

at 6w2d i was not given a bpm, and i'm pretty sure they didn't measure it. but a hb is a really good sign.

We just saw the heartbeat at 6w1d. It was measured a week later.
I'm sorry you have this added worry.

I had spotting for a solid week and got a sono because of it at 6 weeks. The heartbeat was also low- measured at 90. Went back the following week for another sono and the heartbeat was up to 130. They told me sometimes they don't even see a heart beat that early-- don't worry!

they really only checked for a HB at the 6 week mark...not what the rate was.

at 6 weeks this baby's hb was 114 and now at 8 weeks it went to 171 but as previously stated a hb is a great sign and they do start out very slow in ghte beginning. I am sure it will increase as the week progresses. Are you going back soon for another sono?
