Finally - Construction is starting friday - House before Pics included now
Finally - Construction is starting friday for our Double Dormer.....We have been packing like crazy for the past month, and the whole house is almost empty. The entire house including the garage has to be empty.....
I will post pics of the work being done

You should also get some screen shots of either Google Maps, or something similar. They don't update their maps very often, but when they do, you can get aerial before and after shots. 
http://www.bing.com/maps/ has "birds eye view" maps, which are even better than the strictly overhead views of Google maps.

Congrats! Can't wait to see the progress pics. I couldn't imagine having to pack my whole house to do construction, but in the end, you are going to love it I'm sure.  Take lots of pics.

It will take 2 months for the construction and then we have to paint and put down the new floors before we move back in.

wow--you have to leave completly? Are they changing the 1st floor too?
My parents had a double dormer put on & we stayed there- on the first floor.

omg we will be doing this soon also. but we are living in our house now and we bought a new house that we are dormering. so we didnt have to move out which is good. waiting on the permits. ugh!!! good luck!!!

you can save the pics on FB to your computer, then upload them to an album on here. i'm pretty sure that's the easiest way. can't wait to see!

How are they going to do construction if the power is off? Be prepared for some really high electric bills those months, mine were well over 600 a month.

How do you wind up with a $600 electric bill if the power (i guess the breaker) is off?
When I turn my breaker off, my meter stops spinning.

This is what we are doing:
Full double dormer
Adding 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs plus a full attic up above
New Kitchen
Knocking all the walls out downstairs
Moving the stairs from the front of the house to the rear of the house
Moving the boiler
Moving the oil tank
Adding a fan to the bathroom and sealing up the window
Central air and heat
New roof, siding and a portico
