I love looking at pics of your house... fond memories.  Although our house never looked as good as yours does! Your wood floors are gorgeous.
I hope everything goes smoothly for you! Do you have any estimate on how long everything will take?

This is what we are doing:
Full double dormer
Adding 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs plus a full attic up above
New Kitchen
Knocking all the walls out downstairs
Moving the stairs from the front of the house to the rear of the house
Moving the boiler
Moving the oil tank
Adding a fan to the bathroom and sealing up the window
Central air and heat
New roof, siding and a portico
 WHOA it's like building a new house.
I looked through you pictures and your dining room is beautiful. Seems like it's the only room that won't be redone.
What will the layout be downstairs once all the walls are taken down?

The dining room now will become the living room and the two closets that are coming down next to the dining room and the small bedroom will become the den. Also the stairs which are in the front are going to be moved to the back breezeway and you will access them from the back den.
The floors that we have are actually laminate. They are coming out, because the material is discontinued and we dont have enough to fill in the holes.
We are going to do wood throughout.

Wow, that's like a whole new house. Don't mind me asking, but wouldn't it be cheaper to sell your house and buy a new one?

I would love to move my stairs...I can't wait to see how yours looks...I would also love a full attic above my upstairs, plus add another bedroom upstairs!!!

The 2 things Ia m looking forward to most are the second bathroom with double sinks and the Attic. The new kitchen with a peninsula will be nice also

When I redid my house in 2005, I wanted to move my stairs, but it was one of the things I had to edit out because of the price!
I cannot wait to see pics of the progress....GOOD LUCK!
