I think we all need to start getting some facts on this since we all have different understandings

also after the LEEP, you cant be pregnant because of the scar tissue in the cervix right?
What a bummer

This is 100% not true. Just want to make sure we all know that.

And I am probably being TOO sensative because I'm going through it.

Great blog entry:
linky "know your V"

My fav part:
So, in answer to your question about pregnancy, the ‘LEEP procedure’ is not going to interfere with your body’s ability to become pregnant or maintain the pregnancy. I have had many women have successful pregnancies over and over after having this procedure done.

Re: F*ing H.P.V. I need a biopsy

I have lots of experience with this. I chose not to have a leep at all because they cannot and should not do the leep procedure too many times as it will diminish your cervix and can cause problems while pregnant. I left it as a last resort, and I am glad I did.

I got cryo done and went back every 3 months for check ups. I changed my diet and treated it mostly homeopathically, with a variety of vitamins and acupuncture. The great news is that I not only have not had a positive pap in about 3 years but I also test negative for H.P.V.

As my doctor, who was a special high risk OBGYN said, a lot of doctors will use LEEPS first and they really shouldn't. It is taking off part of your cervix, and your cervix does not grow back. There are other less invasive procedures they can do before the LEEP.

Good luck to you and if you want to know the vitamins I would take just fm me.

This is not true in the slightest. You can 100% get pregnant after a LEEP. The only thing that CAN happen, and is rare is that your cervix is shortened which can cause some complications during pregnancy. It is important to tell your OB or Midwife of the procedure so they can do some extra monitoring.

Re: F*ing H.P.V. I need a biopsy

aww..im going on thursday for cryosurgery.

ive has three colps prior to this and the last one showed a low grade lesion. apparently, that could mean 'nothing' too. my good friend had to have two cryosurgeries and after the second she has never had an abnormal pap again.

i feel your frustration, anger, fear, etc.

hope everything works out for you. if you need to rant and vent, im an FM away!

UGH I'm so sorry to hear this. I didn't have HPV but I did have pre-cancerous cells on my cervix and had a LEEP several years ago. I know how scary & frustrating it can be. Best of luck to you!

And my BFF also had a LEEP years ago and has two beautiful children. So you can definitely still get preggers post LEEP Chat Icon
