First finger foods
DD is 7 1/2 months old and hates when I feed her baby food lately. She has been very "independent" since the beginning and I have had to giver her a spoon to even get my spoon in her mouth.
I have started some simple finger foods like bananas and puffs. I need some ideas and suggestion on how to prepare them for her. Any suggestions? Are there any good books out there?

Re: First finger foods
usually a good rule to follow is "if you can smash the food between 2 fingers then they can smash it with their gums"
Just make sure to cut the food into tiny bites!

Re: First finger foods
Even pancackes and waffles are ok. Cut them into strips so she can knaw on them. Small pieces of cheese are also ok.

Re: First finger foods
I also found a half a bagel to be a good first food. They gnaw on it!

Re: First finger foods
Both of my kids were off baby food at young ages.. I gave them...
Puffs cheerios bread chicken turkey meatballs pasta eggs cheese pancakes, waffles, french toast cold cuts soft veggies and fruit
basically anything cut up small except for obvious choking hazards or tough to chew foods.
