First time hosting--Thanksgiving questions
We are deep frying our turkey..can anyone recommend a good store bought gravy or a way I can make one at home with out cooking turkey in oven?
How many sides do you typically have? I was thinking mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green beans and cranberry sauce. Any other must haves? Can anyone recommend recipes?
I want to prep in the days before hand. How do you reheat day of?
I have family staying with us so I am also considering just catering the sides :/ Can anyone recommend a good place that doesn't taste non-homemade lol.
Thank you!!

I have catered Thanksgiving from Lombardi's market in Holbrook and their food was amazing. Very homemade tasting.

Re: First time hosting--Thanksgiving questions
We like Trader Joe's turkey gravy in the box. I usually stock up when they sell it in Nov and use it all year long.

First time hosting--Thanksgiving questions
If your making sides a good easy recipe is Asparagus wrapped in bacon. Put asparagus in bunches of 4. Rollin egg, breadcrumbs and then wrap half a slice of raw bacon around them like a string holding the bunch together. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes or I usually put them together the night before, bake 15 minutes at 350 then bake 30 minutes the day of. Delicious recipe and how my mom got her picky little girl to eat asparagus as a child.
I did an early Thanksgiving last week. We had 18 people. Our sides were stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, asparagus, broccoli bake, corn soufflé, and we had corn muffins and bread. We had gravy, cranberry sauce canned, and my favorite cranberry sauce, which is whole cranberries mixed with frozen strawberries. My mom usually adds to that list green beans and butternut squash.
Good luck with your dinner.

I wound up ordering the sides from Lombardy's. I got:
Stuffing Cranberry sauce Gravy (I also picked up extra from TJs) Green beans almondine Honey glazed carrots Garlic smashed potatos Classic sweet potato casserole Mushroom and carmelized onion stuffing
I'm going to make a quick salad
We'll be deep frying the turkey. I'm glad I didn't attempt to make them. I have family flying in Wed night and it's been a bit crazy preparing. I can't wait though!!
