Flouride drops
I just picked up maddy's drops and I forget when I give them to her. Is it 2 hours before a bootle or after a bottle?
thanks

Re: Flouride drops
Our ped told us it doesn't matter, just give them to him the same time each day. We give them to him just before his morning bottle.

It doesn't matter before or after, just not with. Fluoride should not be taken with dairy, it loses effectiveness.
Calcium (including milk and dairy products), aluminum, and magnesium-containing products (e.g., certain antacids or laxatives) can decrease the absorption of fluoride, thereby decreasing its effectiveness. Take fluoride several hours apart from such products and foods.

Re: Flouride drops
I had no idea -- I've been putting 1 ML in DS's bedtime bottle! Should I just give it to him straight out of the dropper??

Yep what she said. It should not be mixed with the formula.

Mine said it could be mixed with formula, but she said they actually like the taste of it so they won't mind taking it from the dropper.

Re: Flouride drops
I thought I read on the pharmacy instructions that you could mix it in the bottles. I know I wouldn't have done it otherwise. The doctor I was seeing at the time (who I have since left due to utter frustration) did not give me any guidance at all.

Re: Flouride drops
My daughter takes PolyVitamins with Fluoride(PolyViFlor) and the directions specifically say do not mix it with anything but water and no dairy 2 hours before or after.

I think mine says the same-
To this day- Ry spits up if he takes the 2 together- it gives him an upset stomach
Ry loves that taste and opens the fridge to get them out
