Flu at 20wks pregnant- Tamiflu?
So my DD (4.5) started with a high fever (103+) and a cough on Friday. Rushed her to the dr and she was diagnosed with a viral thing that has been going around. My son started with the same high fever on Monday. After 24hrs of the first fever, both kids were fine, however they spiked a fever again yesterday.
Monday night I started wheezing. Tuesday I thought I had come down with a sinus infection/head cold. Put in a call to my OB considering how sick my kids were and they urged me to be seen by my primary care doc today to make sure it wasn't anything else.
Well- just got home and I tested positive for the flu. The doctor is also confident that this is what the kids have had since we all had/have the same symptoms. Thank goodness we all had gotten the flu vax or this could have been much worse
I was prescribed Tamiflu and my OB said I must take it. I am reading horrific side effects and I'm honestly scared to take it.
Has anyone had the flu while pregnant? Has anyone taken Tamiflu?
Any insight would be great. Thank you!

I took it. It's fine.
You'll feel better faster - the potential side effects of the flu on the baby are way worse than those of Tamiflu.
Feel better!!

Thank you! Did you have any horrible side effects? Right now i feel like i have a sinus infection nothing more. Indont have the typical flu symptoms. No aches, no more fever, no stomach issues. I'm stressing out that I'll end up feeling worse in order to get better and my DO works the night shift! Lord help me...

Nope, no side effects at all. How long have you had symptoms? It only helps in the first 48 hours I read. If its been longer, I'd be on the fence, too

Flu at 20wks pregnant- Tamiflu?
I started last night. I took my first dose about 1.5 hours ago and couldn't keep it down. This doesn't seem promising :(

If your not feeling that bad, how come the OB is making you take the tamiflu. I could understand if you where extremely ill from the flu and not eating or drinking. Just curious! Feel better

Not sure. They probably heard "diagnosed with the flu" and nothing more :( Im calling them today. I don't want to take it if I don't have to. The one dose I took made me feel 10000xs worse than my flu symptoms. Go figure! I believe the primary concerns with the flu are oxygen levels (mine was 98), fever (don't have one), and dehydration (I'm staying hydrated and not having an issue with keeping anything down- except last night).... hopefully I can skip it!

See in your condition, I personally wouldn't take it. They probably just heard flu and automatically wanted you to take it to be on safe side. No fever, dehydration or low 02 seems like it's extremely mild.
