Flying to Myrtle Beach Question
It's been a while. Is sucky Spirit the only airline that still flies direct from LGA?
We usually drive to my in laws, I live out east in Medford and keep waiting for an airline to fly direct from Islip.
Any other option anyone knows of? Maybe fly to Wilmington? Any airline that flies direct there out of a NY airport
Thanks

Flying to Myrtle Beach Question
I think Spirit is the only direct option. At least it was when I looked into it last year. They are a terrible airline. Nickle and dime for EVERYTHING!

Flying to Myrtle Beach Question
I actually just looked into this today bc we May vacation down there this year and I don't want to drive 13hrs with a 2 yr old looked like spirit was the only option and it wasn't that cheap! I flew spirit once to fl and they stopped in myrtle beach mid flight to pick up stranded pax.... Never in my life!

Re: Flying to Myrtle Beach Question
We flew Spirit two years ago and it was fine and we got a decent price for spring break- I "think " it was around $220 after selecting our seats. But it has gotten very expensive so we are driving for the first time next month. I remember someone posting recently that Delta flies direct, but I think they said that was only available on the weekends- maybe even just Saturday.

Flying to Myrtle Beach Question
Spirit has the most non-stop options to Myrtle from NYC.
I find when things are going smoothly - they are great but, when things are bad - they are really bad.
United also has direct flights out of Newark.
Another option along with what PPs recommended is to fly into Florence, SC.

Re: Flying to Myrtle Beach Question
Check Delta- I am flying from a Saturday to a Saturday in June nonstop from LGA. I think they do weekend service only in the summer though.

Flying to Myrtle Beach Question
You could fly to Wilmington and drive. It's about a 45 minute drive.

I don't think so - it's not a Southwest destination and most of the other carriers just service major hubs out of Islip.
