Food allergy Moms
MY DS had a severe allergic reaction to a mosquito bite. We had his blood drawn for allergy testing and the results came back with numerous allergies, indoor, outdoor, and food.
They said his food allergies were peanut, tree nut, soy, wheat, dairy. Several fruits and vegetables. What the heck does this kid eat if this is the case?
Also, they recommended a skin test because they said that blood tests are not always accurate. But from what I've been reading it seems that the skin test is less accurate, so I'm confused
What I'm wondering is, what kind of testing did your DC have to confirm their allergies? What kind of daily precautions do you have to take?

Re: Food allergy Moms
My son tested at 6 months positive to:
Dairy Egg Peanut Apple Pear
Now at 18 months he can have nuts, apple and pear but is still allergic to dairy and egg pretty severely. We have two epi-pens just in case, but so far his reactions have been hives with contact and red face and wheezing when he ingests(which he hasn't in a long time)
I would keep benadryl on hand and get an epi pen just in case.
As far as food-Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are your friend.
My kids eat protein, carb and veg and or fruit with every meal.
They have Earth's Best Treats, organic wheat thins, puffs, organic toaster pastries, waffles, soy yogurt(my son can also have goat cheese, milk and yogurt-you may want to try tthat-LOTS of options)
HTH FM for more info
I didn;t answer your original question-he had scratch tests and we have scrip for bloodwork which we haven't done yet

Re: Food allergy Moms
We had both. Skin test was easier, blood test was more accurate. We actually have to have another one done.
