Food battles with a five year old - help!!!
I thought he would become a better eater but it just gets worse and worse. He used to eat like a teenager and now I can't even get him to finish one meal - and it still takes him an hour to eat a few spoons or forkfuls. I just don't know what to do anymore. He is so thin as it is and cannot afford to eat so little like this. I'm tired of always fighting with him about it. What can I do???

I feel like it is a stage most kids hit, around 4 or 5 that they stop eating so much.
Can you try hiding some healthy stuff in his food? If he eats meatballs with sauce you can puree some veggies into the sauce and then hide spinach in the meatballs

It's not that he doesn't eat healthy, he just doesn't want to eat. If I let him eat junk food, he'd eat all day. Anything with nutritional value, he fights and doesn't want to eat at all.

Honestly don't fight. It's just not worth the battle. My ped. has even told me not to make food and issue. To just encourage and offer a lot of options. We have the same problem with my daughter, have for a long time but she's got sensory issues so that comes with the territory. She's super, super thin as well but she's growing so I know she's getting nutrition from somewhere.
