YES and been home watching CNN and every other media/news that has had Retired PO, detectives.....all speaking on behalf of this situation.

Noone will understand unless they were those cops in their position that nite.

I'm sure this will be a big topic at my uncles birthday party in a couple of weeks. Chat Icon

The following are in, or were, LE:
*my father - retired Chief with the Feds (aka Special Agent in Charge), retired Investigator w/Nass DA's office
*uncle - retired LT Det w/Nass Cty
*aunt - retired Det w/Nass Cty
*cousin - ASAC w/USSS, former NYPD HWP (6 yrs)
*cousin - NJ Trooper (did Hwy Patrol for a number of years, but now he's a Det.)

It will be interesting to hear their take on it.

my father was a NYPD...

he felt it was excessive
ETA...he does also feel that when you are in that kind of a moment...and your life is threatened...well that is such a powerful feeling that nobody can truly comprehend unless they are in it..

A good friend of mine said the same exact thing. He also said that they are trained "shoot to kill" (IMO, that's a little barbaric), and when you're life is threatened you'll do anything.
