for anyonr who makes their own baby food - question about organic.chicken
Where can I buy organic.chicken? Also, what is the beat way to make it? Do I add stock or anything to make it.moist? How thin did you puree it the first time u gave it? How long does it stay in the freezer? Thanks!!!!!

For chicken I never pureed it. I waited till DS was almost 9 months old and just either shred it, or pulse it for a few seconds. I'm focusing more on textures and self feeding with him, so trying to move away from purees.

we also shredded it- I'd cook it in broth. Most supermarkets have an organic meat section- Stop n Shop, King Kullen- or you can try Whole Foods or places like that. I thought all meat stays in the freezer up to a year

I roasted it and then cut it into tiny pieces. I also waited until she was old enough to chew real food before trying it. The idea of pureed meat is just too gross to me. You can find it at Whole Foods or really any other supermarket. I personally just get hormone and antibiotic free chicken, not organic. Organic is incredibly expensive, and the hormone and antibiotic free I can get for like $3.89lb from Fresh Direct.

I buy the organic chicken tenders at Stop and Shop. I individually wrap and freeze them. Lately I have been grilling them for him. I put a little seasoning on it too to spruce it up a bit. I never pureed. I just cut it into super tiny pieces and let him eat it himself.

I never pureed meat. I couldn't. I gave him the broth from soups I made but nothing until he could eat solid food.
he didn't have any meat until he was almost 1 or a bit after. he had a full set of teeth but I was a chicken (no pun intended )
most stores have an organic brand. I think stop n shop has nature's promise. you can also shop at whole foods or trader joes or a local farm.farmers market.

I buy my organic chicken at Trader Joe's or Stop & Shop. I never pureed it, started DS on it at 10 months and just cut it up into very small pieces.

Looks like I am in the minority but I actually do puree my DD"s chicken. I just started on chicken last week. I buy the organic chicken boneless skinless thights from whole foods.. last time I actually steamed it but next time I think I will boil it like a soup, with carrots, potato etc and then puree it together inc some broth.

I always boiled it in a little chicken stock & water w/ celery carrots and onion then pureed it. I would buy organic at Waldbaums or Best Yet
