Re: for fun: did you yell, scream, or make grunting noises when you were in labor or while pushing?

I was thinking "just get through it" the entire time and I barely uttered a word, grunt, etc. Even the nurses made a comment of how quiet I was. Truth is, it expended to much energy for me to say anything, so I didn't.

oh i did whimper and cry!! when i felt like i couldnt push any longer.
i just felt like there was no end to the pushing!! i broke down twice!!

I was like this too...I cried hard towards the end and broke down. I would have been ok if the epidural hadn't worn off completely. DS turned during one of my contractions and his right shoulder was jamming into my back every time I pushed. I was close to being hysterical by the time I got rolled into the OR.

I only started screaming when they made me stop pushing and started prepping me for a c-section and had to push DD back up a bit for it. Otherwise I was very quiet and focused and even falling asleep between contractions for a while toward the end. (It was a REALLY long day.)

I know I didn't scream and I didn't cry. But I might have grunted a little towards the end. I was pushing for an hour plus.

But I remember when I was first admitted, we could hear this woman SCREAMING in the room next to us. My husband and I looked at each other in horror. We asked the nurse if she was giving birth right now and she said "No, she was just getting an internal" Chat Icon Chat Icon

I SCREAMED in the OR when I was having my C/S with DS. They pushed him up my abdomen so far it hurt sooo bad!! Thinking back, it may have been painful due to the problems I had with my gall bladder, but MAN did that hurt!

if anything i grunted. at the end of the contraction i would let out a loud noise...the word is escaping me...not grunting...not gasping, gosh i can't remember. but yeah towards the end of each contraction i'd let out a loud exclamation if that's even a word. why can't i think today? lol.

I did not delivery vaginally, but I was in active labor for about 3 hours.

I did not scream or cry, because I could barely breathe, my conractions were awful.

Re: for fun: did you yell, scream, or make grunting noises when you were in labor or while pushing?

I cried like a little baby when the doctor broke my water. I will never forget how bad that hurt for some reason.

Even though I had an epidural after four hours of pitocin with no pain meds I never made a peep. I was just concentrating so much on my little angel.

I was totally Linda Blair Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Screaming, yelling, cursing...if my head could have spun around like hers did, it would have Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

In my defense, I had 2 failed epi's, was on pitocin, and DS was sunny side up, so all the labor was in my back...I really wanted to stop and just leave DS inside...I kept telling DH I can't do it.

But then my best friend, aka, the spinal, came along before my emergency section, and I was in lala land...I went from being Linda Blair to Shirley Temple in about 1 minute Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Looking back, I LMAO thinking about my poor DH, nurses & dr's LOL.

With my 1st one the nurses told me I was scaring the ladies down the hall Chat Icon With my last two I had my good friend "epidoral" and I think I only made grunting noises while I pushed.

Re: for fun: did you yell, scream, or make grunting noises when you were in labor or while pushing?

I didn't make a sound. But I also didn't feel anything because of the epidural....and it only took about 20 minutes for me to push her out!
I remember hearing screams coming from other rooms and I was terrified!!

Very quiet! The only noise I made was a gasp for air after each push.

Oh and I guess I was breathing pretty loud through contractions.

Re: for fun: did you yell, scream, or make grunting noises when you were in labor or while pushing?

My epi wore off and the baby was sunny side up. I was ok for the most part but as he was actually coming out, I screamed - loud - Oh My God!!!!!!!!!!! They heard me in the waiting room. My neice heard me and said, Oh that couldn't have been Aunt Fran and my mom say Yup that was her....

In my defense, the waiting area was very close to the labor rooms... Yup I swear!!

Pushing for 3 years, hells yea I screamed and yelled. And my nurse, whom I HATED told me to BE QUIET! She said she doesnt care for screamers and it does nothing to get the baby out..well I basically told her to go F herself and continued yelling. It didnt help though, I needed a c. LOL

GEEEEEEEEZ your hoo-ha must've KILLED after that 3 year push! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

No screaming, cursing or grunting here. No pain meds. 3 failed epidurals, pitocin, and a freakin antibiotics IV in my hand, making it really difficult to grip my legs and/or bed rails. In fact, I was having a full conversation with the delivery doc. They told me I was a freak of nature. Chat Icon

No I didnt make any noises but I cursed the woman who asked me if I had ever been treated for depresson and asked me if I wanted to speak with a hospital social worker while I was in full blown labor and prepping for an emergency c-section. Seriously? Therapy? Come on now!

Re: for fun: did you yell, scream, or make grunting noises when you were in labor or while pushing?

DS was born in less than 3 hours from the time my water broke. When I got to the hospital I was 3cm and within 20 minutes, I was 10cm! Needless to say there was no time to get ANYTHING!!! I had to NOT push for 15 minutes until my dr. arrived! So yeah... I screamed! Loud. My sister heard me in the waiting room! They were telling me not to scream as screaming would make me push but sometimes I just could not help it! Chat Icon Chat Icon
