For those moms who where diagnosed with MTHFR, what kind of BC do you use??
My OB will not let me go on the pill or anything else that has a possible blood clot side effect.....so what else is there....besides condoms and things like that??

A friend of mine has been diagnossed with MTHFR also and the use the Natural Family Planning Method.

you cannot use ANYTHING with hormones....so as my doctor put it, your options are
Condoms NFP (natural family planning) PNP (pull and pray)

what about a copper IUD? i don't believe those have hormones in them.

I personally was not comfortable going that route but that is definitely an option

Oh, yes, this is another option
I personally was not comfortable going that route but that is definitely an option i definitely agree that it's not for everyone. i personally don't know much about it, other than that it's hormone-free.

I asked My OB about it and he said condoms. We are probably going to just chart ...since Im fairly regular with AF I can just avoid...Its not that hard.
