For those of you that color your hair yourself at home...
How often do you color it? It seems that between the fading and the gray hair, I am coloring every 3 weeks. I think this is too often! I have had my hair done professionally at a salon for a long time, but I didn't think it lasted any longer, so I started doing it myself to keep the cost down

I was able to extend the coloring by using the root touchup kit since that was really my own issue.

i don't color it that often, only because the color i use and my natural hair color are pretty close. but when i'm "on top of things": three to four weeks sounds about right.

Same here. I color every 8-10 weeks, using the root touch up stuff at around 6 weeks.

I touch up my roots about 3-4 weeks after I color, then dye again 3-4 weeks after that. I hate grays!

I just do my roots every 3 weeks or so. I have very stubborn grays..  
as for the whole head color , its rare i do my whole head just touch ups ..
etd to say , like u i do my own too, years ago i got frustrated with gettin ripped off @ the salons, my hair is long & thick & they just robbed me ,, havent been to a salon in 15 years.. id rather do it my self anyways
