Go to the salon; I recently did a rinse-out color at home and ended up at the salon, anyway....

Now, I always go the salon. In college, I used the box a few times, but always had someone help me.

I just do it at home. I'm too lazy (and cheap!) to go to a salon regularly. Chat Icon

I go to the salon...I can't be bothered doing it myself with the possibility of messing it up...My place is reasonable, so it doesn't put a dent in the wallet Chat Icon

Re: If you color your hair-Salon or Do at Home?

I used to do it at home, and I've been told by a few stylists that I did a great job on myself, but for the last couple of years up until I got pg I was going to the salon.

After I give birth I'll probably go back to doing it myself because I probably won't have the $$$ to splurge like I've been. I don't buy the box though - I go to the beauty supply stores and mix my own color.

Re: If you color your hair-Salon or Do at Home?

I do it at home out of the box... but I do the ones that wash out in about 20 washes... that way if i screw up its only temporary...

the first and last time I did it myself the color was all over my bathroom. Not the redecorating I had in mind.

salon. I used to do it at home until one time I did an ash blonde and my hair was green. I am blonde to begin with. VERY blonde and I didn't know that such a light color can't take an ash Chat Icon

I have done it at home, but it does make such a mess!

I have also done highlgihts myself, which actually came out great, but if you need anything complicated get it done professionally.

Salon. I did it myself at home twice, once it got all over me and the bathroom ..took forever to clean up. The second time my hair came out purple. I've done it on other people with no problem though.

I do it at home usually. I do it just to cover gray.

The place I go to now to get a haircut is offering a cut and color on Tuesday's for $60, so I might actually do it at the salon next time.

Re: If you color your hair-Salon or Do at Home?

I've never had my hair dyed in a salon. It's something I always wanted to do, but just get too cheap to bring myself to do it. Maybe post baby I will treat myself.

I just do it at home, and have never had a problem. Well, only once when I had highlighted my hair, then decided to dye it red. The blonde streaks turned pink! Looked cool. but not what I was going for.

Re: If you color your hair-Salon or Do at Home?

I was doing at home for a while. Then I treated myself and found out that my hair was two different colors. I've been going to the salon ever since.

Re: If you color your hair-Salon or Do at Home?

I've done both and I am totally comfortable either way. For any sort of color change I go to the salon. Recently I bought professional color and mixed it at home. It was the same color the salon was using on me.

At home. I have done both salon and at home. I am comfortable either way. When I get PG I'll be going back to the salon.

I'll be doing my hair tomorrow
