Could you see what they were taking a guess at, if you get my drift LOL.... It just looked like a dot to me so early on...

Re: For those of you that had guesses of gender at the ultrascreen

They didn't make a guess at my ultrascreen, but they did 2 weeks later. The tech guessed girl because we got a good shot right between the legs and didn't see anything. When we saw between the legs I thought girl before she said anything. But I go back June 20th and I'll be a little over 16 weeks then so we'll see....

Was there a guess for you??

They guessed boy!!!! But it literally looked like a white dot, so DH is through the moon, I'm just scared we're going to find out later its a girl, I don't want to set our minds on boy yet and he's already figuring out what sports to sign him up for ;)

When I was pregnant with my 2nd, at 12 weeks the tech sounded so positive it was a Chat Icon . Eight weeks later it was confirmed.

That's so exciting! Did you ask the tech to take a guess? Did the tech say how certain he/she was that it was a boy?

Where did you all go that they guessed? I have mine at North Shore in Manhasset on Friday and I hope they take a guess. I'll be 12 weeks and 5 days along, so hopefully we'll see something Chat Icon (or see nothing Chat Icon )

The perinatalogist at North Shore Manhasset did my ultrascreen. I asked him on a whim if he could tell what the baby was...he told me he knew what it was....Chat Icon ...he told me not to go painting the room blue or anything just yet b/c he could be wrong but in the same breath he told me that he'd never been wrong yet...

Congrats!!!! I've heard that boy guesses early on are more accurate. I hear ya on being scared that they were wrong. My BF has been convinced since day one that this is a boy. Actually, the whole family thought it was. Then we did intelligender and that said boy, and although I kept saying those aren't accurate, BF was all set for a mini-him, and was a little disappointed. I don't think that disappointment would have been there if he didn't already think boy. And now I'm excited for a little girl! But honestly as long as the baby is healthy, there is nothing more in the world that we could ask for.

My doctor is in Manhattan. He's associated with Mount Sinai and the sono place is Carnegie Hill Imaging. One tech absolutely refused to guess at 12 weeks. I told my dr that and he said guesses at 12 weeks can be wrong because girl parts are sometimes bigger than boy parts that early on. He told me that would be able to tell me at 16 weeks. But then I went at 14 weeks, 3 days (because my dog had jumped on my stomach and I got scared) and that tech had no problem guessing (after I kept saying how excited we were to find out.)

Yup. The tech took an "educted guess" for us at my 12 week ultrascreen and she was right. Chat Icon

Re: For those of you that had guesses of gender at the ultrascreen

I got it at NSUH Manhasset, and DH was relentless he first was begging the sono tech for a guess and she said NO, and then the doc focused in between the legs and he said 75-80% sure it's a Chat Icon He said he's been wrong, but he's right most of the timeChat Icon DH is going crazy, and I'm in the same boat, everything was saying girl to me, my entire family thought girl so I was like WHAT..when I called my mother her reaction was HOW IS IT A BOY...needless to say I had to explain what the difference between a boy and girl wasChat Icon
