For now I have a PT WAH job that I really like. When the kids are both in school FT I have a home based business idea that I'd like to start.

When Ella reaches school age I will work as a PT consultant.

I go back and forth with it. At this point, I would rather not.

When they are in school, I think I will go back to school during the day. I want to get a degree in dental hygiene. I have always wanted to do it and the college I went to did not have the program, so it seems like then would be a good time for me to do it.

If at that point, I went to work, it would be part time.

I will be staying home forever (gee, that sounds like a long time) Chat Icon

are you at all sad about never going back to work? i think thats the direction im going to take as well...

no, I'm not. many women feel differently, but I was never a "career" person.

i feel the same!! do you ever feel ppl judge you for it??

I haven't felt judged yet, but I'm sure I will someday. But, I have to do what works for me. I wouldn't be happy working.

Most people have been awesome about me being a SAHM..especially my family. I'm sorry for others who have been judged...all moms seem to be at some point, its sad!!

With that being said...someday I plan to work. BUT i also plan to go back to school and get my teaching license. I will be a SAHM HOPEFULLY until my youngest is in school but it may be even sooner that I have to enter the workforce. I'm sad about that...I love being home Chat Icon

i was a SAHM for the past 5 months and now i work part time 15 hours a week (3 days a week, 4-5 hours a day), which is perfect. i make good $$ and have plenty of time for DS, plus i have family watching him two days so knowing hes getting great care while i am at work is priceless

What work do you do?

Eventually. I don't think we'll be able to afford me staying home forever. But miracles do happen.

Staying home forever! I was born to be a housewife and mommy. Sometimes I feel bad that I left college when I got pregnant and never went back, but DD is worth it.

I have been a SAHM for 6 years. I was a teacher prior to having my older son.

I MIGHT do some sort of cluster postion or F status position when my younger son is in Elemenatry school. But probably not. I really can't see myself returning to work within the next several years.

I am actually looking to do something part time currently.. but yes, I anticipate that once we're done having kids and the youngest is in school I will return to the workforce FT.

Right I am on a leave of absence form the Board of Ed. I know right now I am very happy as a SAHM but I do not know what the future holds. I am going to take it one year at a time. I could take up to 4 years leave from the Board of Ed for each child and then you have to resign. After you resign I think you have like 5 years to change your mind and come back and get your tenure. I am also thinking that in the future I might like to do something other than teaching. I have been thinking about getting certified in Special Ed and doing early intervention. I also would really love to go back to school to get my PHD in education.
