For those of you who have seen a hematologist ....
Is it true that most are also oncologists?!??! .. .I made an appt with a hematologist and she's located at a cancer center!! 
(I made the appt because of my slue of clotting issues from the thrombo panel and just want another opinion on how to manage it)

YES! My dr is a hematologist/ oncologist.
I swear sometimes I am the only patient in the waiting room that is not there for cancer treatments. I don't know where you live -- but I LOVE my hematologist -- he has offices in Riverhead and Southampton. Dr. Louis J. Avvento
He is the one who diagnosed my Antiphospholipid Syndrom/ Antibodies BEFORE he even took my blood, and he faxed my OBGYN with his thoughts... and then again with the paperwork / blood test results.
I go see the dr every other month, and go in monthly for B12 shots (at first had to get them every day for 5 days, then weekly) but thank goodness I am down to monthly.

yes, most of them are. i was looking for a good one myself, and most of them are oncologists and really good ones take cash only.
there is this lady dr at Cornel, who is not an oncologist, but specializes in IF related hematological issues. she is cash only. let me know if you want her info

Yes, most are also oncologists. If you're looking for a good one, check out Dr. Ostrow at North Shore Hematology/Oncology.
