For those that chose not to breastfeed...
Tell me what I need to do while in the hospital to make it as easy as possible to not get engorged, etc....

Re: For those that chose not to breastfeed...
I heard that you should bring a tight bra....like a sports bra. Other than that...I would love to know as well!

Re: For those that chose not to breastfeed...
I'm not going to breastfeed and I've heard to wear a sportsbra nonstop (even in the shower) as well as take sudafed. My friend said she took sudafed right away for a couple of days and it never came in. I'm going to ask my doctor about that one!!!

I have heard the above, and I think I also read that ice packs on your chest help.

A very tight bra and ice packs help too. Do not let the shower run on your chest either. Hope this helps. It will still huurt but not as bad

I didn't BF and didn't really need to do anything....I was sore once home for a day or so, and I think I leaked for about a day, but that was it.

This is exactly how I was. I woke up one morning (5 days after having him) and my chest was sore, swollen and felt almost "hot" i guess from the engorgement, but it lasted one day and i leaked a little bit and that was it...they went back down in size and no really bad pain at all.
Although..the oddest thing...10 days later i started leaking in the shower and then it stopped! I found it very odd..

I heard from a friend that placing cabbage leaves on your boobs, as funny as it sounds, really does help to dry up the milk. I can't vouch for it first hand, though, until I try it in November!
