For those that have had their hardwood floors redone recently

1. Can you tell me how much they charge per square foot?

2. If you had a staircase done with banister, how much was that.

3. Who did you use?

Thanks everyone! Our floors are already pealing after 3 years. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon We need to budget for this project. Thanks for any help you can give. Chat Icon

For 1000 sqft about 2,000 or 2.00 sqft. I used BONA water base finish. Did not want the smell. Use semi gloss 3 coats if you want a nice shine.

Stairs brand new all white oak with balusters and rail. 10 steps. $750.00.

I recommended Pepe to all my Buyers and Sellers. He does great work at a fair price.

Good Luck,

Jen I dont know the break down per square foot but we used and we felt he was very reasonably priced. he not only refinished our HW floors but also added HW in our kitchen. I am pretty sure he does gates and banisters because a friend of ours used him for this.

We were very satisfied with his work. He was recommended by FIL who is a plumber and gets to see the work of a lot of contractors when working in new constructions or remodels ect..

I am waiting on a quote from our floor person, and from 2 other contractors. Will let you know when I get them!

We will be sanding and refinisihng, and also pulling up tile in the hallway, kitchen and sunroom and having new hardwoods put it.

Honestly I can't remember the sq footage but it was my formal living room, dining room, hallway, and 2 sets of stairs which are about 10 steps in total and we paid $900

We used Empire Floor. (not 100% on that name, wil find out later)

He charged us $960, that was to sand LR and 3BR. Just seal 2 BR and stain and poly a Master, hall and LR.

AWESOME job. They looks like a whole new set of floors. I will post pics when I upload later.

We used Goldstar Flooring --- Carl is his name, not sure of the # off the top of my head -- he did our 1,300 sq ft co-op three years ago for $1,600 and just did our new living room for $375. Awesome to work with!

I got estimates based on 450 sq. feet plus a hallway (unsure of the sq. footage) for about $1,300 - $1,700 to re-finish. We wound up just replacing our floors with a pre-finished hardwood for just a little more than the cost of refinishing.
