For those that started potty training early.
I introduced my ds to the potty very young. He has been going on it since 17 months. Usually every morning and some afternoons. He of course, get very excited because we make a big deal everytime he goes and he likes to flush it (sorry if tmi). Anyway, for those who started early, at what age were they completely potty trained?

Same here. My DD took 6 days to be fully trained at 24 months old.
My oldest trained in 3 days at 27 months old.

Re: For those that started potty training early.
We introduced the potty EARLY, like 12 months. We started that early because her verbal skills were so good that she could communicate, but honestly, I decided I just didn't care to do it that early. Then, we waited till about 20 months again to try and I was really laid back about it, so by 22 months, she was fully trained. It was honestly my pure laziness of not wanting to try that kept her from training sooner.

Re: For those that started potty training early.
DS was going regualarly on the potty at 17 months and was out of diapers full-time while he was at-home by 24 months. I had a problem with daycare though. He was only there 2 days a week, but they only put him on the potty once or twice a day. They kept using the changing table. It drove me nuts and really delayed him. So, he wasn't totally out of pull-ups until I was home with him full-time after DS#2's birth. He was about 2 1/2 then.
ETA: He was realiable accident-free before then, but I had to use pull-ups at daycare.

This is where I'm at. Ryan has been going on the potty since 18 months. He now will use it 3-4x/day but I just don't have the time to crossover to underpants with a newborn and construction and "really" train him. I plan to focus on it after the new year. He is 20 months now.

Can everyone share with me how they started with DS? seamus will be 17 months at the end of the month. Lately, he has had very lightly wet diapres overnight. Nothing near the soaked ones he used to have. We dont change him as much during the day either. He stays dry for at least 3 hours sometimes!!

Wow, how do you even begin trying this early? DS will be 15 months on Christmas, but I feel like he would have no comprehension of PT'ing! Of course, the kid is a lot smarter then I give him credit for so he could definately suprise me!

Re: For those that started potty training early.
I think it depends on the child. I mean, she would tell me when she needed to go by a year old, but that's because her speech was so advanced, then when I abandoned trying to potty train her, she'd tell me when she needed her diaper changed. I mean, put him on the potty and see what happens. I thought it was crazy to put her on at 12 months, but my mother swore she would use it, and she did.

I started by putting DS on the potty first thing in the morning at around 14 months. He would usually go and he got the idea of what the potty was for. At 17 months he was able to start and stop peeing with control. So if I put him on the potty every couple hours he would pee and rarely wet his pants. I put him in training underwear with plastic pants so he could feel if he had accidents, but wouldn't make a mess.

Re: For those that started potty training early.
I have been putting ds on the potty for months. He is 23 months and all he does is play with himself He won't poop or pee. He will hold it until I put the diaper back on

Re: For those that started potty training early.
DD was totally potty trained by about a week before her 2nd birthday .... i think it really depends on the individual kid... we did not push her - DD did not like to have a wet diaper, or a dirty diaper - if she peed once she asked to be change -- it was getting ridiculous --- so we introduced the potty and viola it was over in a week.
to be honest though - if she wasn't showing signs of being ready - i wouldn't have pushed her.
