? for those with kids with milk allergies...
How did the allergy manifest itself? Maddy had yogurt /cheese the other day ( a small amt) and her diapers have been so smelly( a very unique smell) and she has a small diaper rash. The only thing I can think of is allergic reaction. WDYT?

Re: ? for those with kids with milk allergies...
When I was BFing, Brendan had very bad eczema. I had to cut all dairy out of my diet. Today, stupidly, I gave him some yobaby yogurt. Instantly he was covered in a red, bumpy, rash and he was itchy all over. His skin was puffy and swollen especially around his eyes and mouth. The whites of his eyes started getting clear and his eyes were oozy. It was very scary! I had to give him benadryl., but his skin is still red. In some kids I think it can manifest with digestive or respiratory symptoms. I know of some babies who have had blood in their stool from milk allergies. I'd stop giving the dairy products and see if you see a change. In a few weeks maybe introduce it again and see if you have the same symptoms. Probably best to just check with your doctor though.

Our daughter just got wickedly cranky and was not eating well. never got to the point of a reaction on her skin or blood in her stool. I took her to the Dr. as soon as she seemed not quite herself.
