Foreclosure/Short Sale

Can anyone recommend a real estate agent that specializes in these types of sales?

Lori be careful with short sale!!! One real estate warned us that with short sale/foreclosure alot of times the houses are in very poor condition b/c the people know they are losing their house and dont take care of it.
Also, it turns into a huge auction that can last for months and months.

This can happen. Not always. My parents just bought one. Not in horrible condition. They got a great deal and the bonus, the house appraised for almost $250,000 more.

us too!! But the first house we were in contract on was a short sale and it lasted 9 months just to here if the bank would accept the offer this home we have now only took 4 months good luck just see how many mortage companies are on the house. IF there is one mortage then go for it but if there is more then one I would be careful it could take a long time. Just write something into your agreement that in 90days if you don't hear anything that you can pull out of the deal and get your deposit back!!

BETH! She is doing our short sale and has been awesome.

Wanted to ETA that our house is up for short sale b/c STBX and I are divorcing and we can't sell the house. Our house is in great condition and is very clean! I don't think all short sales are in terrible shape. You just gotta shop around.

Re: Foreclosure/Short Sale

my first one was a joke and the house we bought we just called the realtor on the house who was listed!! She was a nightmare also but that is another issue

Re: Foreclosure/Short Sale

I'm a realtor and working on my first short sale for my husband and I. My advise is make sure the realtor listing the house is experienced with short sales (not sure if you're looking to list a property or buy one).

As a realtor I haven't had to do anything different from a typical purchase but stay ontop of the listing agent (he's a bit of a flake). We're going on month 5 and starting negotiations with the bank (we're not budging in price). Cross your fingers that it all works out!!

I hope everything works out for you!!
