Formula question - powder
I will be supplementing with formula soon and was wondering, can you mix the powder with the water and refrigerate it or does it have to be used right away?

Re: Formula question - powder
yes, i believe you can refrigerate up to 24 hours. We always made our bottles for the next day on the night before.

You can mix it and put it in the fridge. You have to use it within 24 hours though. I bought a formula pitcher sold at BRU specifically for this purpose.

Re: Formula question - powder
In the beginning we made a pitcher of formula the night before and used it the next day. I believe it is ok within 24 hours.

So you mix it all together in there and make bottles from it?

Water then formula (use the directions on the can for a quart) and shake it up and pop it into the fridge and then use it as needed!

Re: Formula question - powder
Am I the only one who loves making the bottles just as she needs them, that way we dont have to take the time to warm them up once she is hungry?

No, I do the same. We have a water cooler so i just put in half hot, half cold and add the powder. It's so easy, I think I've used my bottle warmer once.

I never warmed bottles, my children were fine with them cold.

Because we both work we had to make them beforehand. After a while it just became part of the nightime routine

I only do this when I am out all day with no access to a refrigerator. When I make it fresh there are too many bubbles.
We premix it the night before in a jug that came with my tupperware set and warm it up as needed. We only warm to RT. On occasion DS has had to have a cold bottle and he was fine with it.

Yeah, with her gas issues..... her ped in the beginning (that's when they were really bad) told me to try to have her bottles pre made b/c there were extra bubbles in the fresh made formula. That's when I found the pitcher!
