Foundation that actually stays on all day
Has anyone experienced this?
Currently I use Clinique but it doesn't last all day.
I tried Makeup Forever. It definately lasted and looked good, but it feels sooo heavy on my face.
I bought a trial of bare escentials but I see no difference with my skin. I need coverage.
I need a foundation that will even out my skin (I have a lot of freckles) and last all day long.
Any recs? TIA!

I would recommend using a really good primer so it has something to stick to. I love Smashbox Photo Finish. And my fave foundation is MAC Studio Fix Fluid-- it gives plenty of coverage and doesn't feel heavy to me.

Re: Foundation that actually stays on all day
I think it's pretty much impossible to find one that stays on all day. It's like pantyhose that never rip- or nail polish that doesn't chip!
Especially if your skin is oily you will most likely have to touch up mid day and reapply completely if you are going out at night.
At least that is what I found and I have tried all kinds and used primer vs no primer, etc....

Revlon Colorstay! If you want something on the lighter side, use the Colorstay Active Light or Colorstay Mineral Mousse (I prefer the Active Light over the Mineral Mousse.)
I also like the regular Colorstay with Softflex, but it's definitely heavier and offers more coverage.

Have you tried Makeup Forever Matte Velvet foundation? That's what I use and it's soooo light! And, no breakouts I love it!

I totally agree with this. I use Smashbox photo finish as well. I then use Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.

Re: Foundation that actually stays on all day
I would make sure you are using the right formula and a primer.
I have a T-Zone issue so I wear MAC mineralizing oil free makeup. It is sheer but build-able (the more you put on the more coverage you get and it doesn't feel heavy). I also notice my make looks better and lasts longer with a good silicone primer. I was just reading that Sephora's primer is suppose to be good.

Re: Foundation that actually stays on all day
Thanks for your responses.
Sounds like I should try the primer first.
I already use Laura Gellar primer on lips and eyes. I think I will try hers first and see how it works.
THANKS!

So today I bought the Active light and I LOVE it. I tried it today while I was cleaning and I couldn't believe how flawless my skin looked and I didn't need a lot at all. Plus, if you try it and don't like you can return it. I first bought the wrong color at CVS, kept my receipt and returned it for the right one.

The downside to the Colorstay is getting it off. I find that face soap doesn't get it completely off, so I use the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes and they do the job.

I will try those. I had to scrub to get it off with cetaphil. I also noticed if I used my fingers it looked better instead of my foundation brush that I normally use.
