Frank Breech???? BTDT moms please come in.
So I had my growth sono today and turns out is Frank Breech.
I have until next week to decide if we want to try a version. Which I'm told is less successful in Frank Breech babies, plus DS is measuring 7 lbs already. So he's "biggish" as the doctor put it.
Has anyone been in this situation and had success with it????
Also, how were your babies after the fact? I'm freaking myself out reading stuff online....about hips and what not.
ETA I'm 36 weeks.

DD was footling breech until 34 weeks.
I went to a chiropractor who specialized in the webster technique, she flipped after a few visits.
I would have gone for the version if she hadn't flipped. Versions are more successful in women who have already had children.

DS was Frank Breech!!! He was breech pretty much my entire pg. I didn't try to turn him I had a csection. He had a hip ultrasound a few weeks after he was born and he's fine!

DS was a footling breech with one foot in my cervix and the other up near his head and my heart. His tush was down. I didn't go for a version, but went into labor on my own. My water broke. I had an emergency c/s. I made it all the way to transition. FM me for any questions. DS is fine.

DD was also breech. My dr recommended not attempting to change the babies position as it can cause complications, so we went the c-section route. And she did have mild hip dysplasia. She had to wear a harness for 8 weeks. I will not get into details (but I will say it was totally far from terrbile), but more than likley your baby will be just fine, most are!

Re: Frank Breech???? BTDT moms please come in.
DS was breech, not sure if it was Frank Breech or complete breech but my dr. did not recommend the version.
She said that there was only a roughly 50% success rate of turning the baby and even if the baby turned, there was still a chance that they could turn back to breech before labor.
Plus, I heard it is extremely painful and can cause stress on the baby and end up in an emergency c-section.
I ended having a c-section and a sono to check for hip displaysia when DS was 4 weeks old and he was fine. No issues.

No version.
I would take the section if he doesn't turn on his own. My BFF's second was breech at 37 weeks, he turned but apparently not enough and she labored and ended up with a section anyway. She says in retrospect the section would have probably been easier

Thanks everyone.
I've let the idea sink in and decided against an attempted version. My chances are not very good, and I don't want to cause the baby any unnecessary stress.
Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll turn.

Re: Frank Breech???? BTDT moms please come in.
My cousin just had her DD who was Frank Breach. She did end up having him via csection and didn't attempt to turn him. His legs were up (not so straight) for a few weeks after birth, but around a month or so were much much better. He didn't need PT at all and is doing great!! Good luck!!!!

DS was breech and we did try a version, which was honestly not a fun experience and I have a very high tolerance of pain. It didn't work so it was a scheduled C-section which went great. DS was born fine...no hip problems at all (although I believe the hip problems are more common in girls for some reason).

Re: Frank Breech???? BTDT moms please come in.
DS was breech (I think he was footling, but he did go back and forth and was frank at one point). I tried the version but it didn't work. It really wasn't terrible (not too comfy, but I can't imagine it comes close to labor!) and I was happy to know that I tried everything to get him to turn. Ended up with a c/s at 39 weeks.

see spinning babies for some natural techniques
I was never breech but I followed guidelines on that site to keep it that way. I love the way they explain how to find out how your baby is positioned in your tummy.
