freeze?

is it true that there's a hiring freeze in the city??? If yes I don't think I'll ever get a job b/c LI is out!

There was a freeze this year. Our chapter leader is talking about another one for next year. There are too many people that were in excess and they are trying to get them back into the classrooms before they hire anyone, I'm sorry.

Yes, it's true. No one can be hired from outside the DOE, with the exception of Special Ed teachers.

yep.... so many people were excessed that principals are being told that they must hire from the ATR pool before an "outsider" is hired.

Also if you teach certain subjects like Chemistry or Earth Science for HS the freeze doesn't apply
