the sexy pics in the fountain ARE of her as are the pics with rose petals etc.

I did not think the rose petal pics were that bad. She duplicated the image from American Beauty

Why would she be kicked off for those photos? They were not bad at all I didn't even know we were talking about them. I thought we were talking about the more explicit ones.

I have to say- this comment was pretty judgmental.....

I think that Fantasia winning AI was a WONDERFUL example of someone rising above her situation rather than wallowing in it......

because the fountain ones are the fountain of the WWII memorial...
there were other ones of her breasts exposed etc.

i agree they are not as bas as frenchies pics b/c she was not paid for them but degrading the WWII memorial to give your bf some "material" to use when you are not around is somewhat gross to me - use another fountain for chrissakes!

Hmm. I am willing to forgive Anotnella for disgracing the WW II memorial if she can name who was an Axis power or an Allied power without using Google.

Yes but it is my opinion, and the poster I was referring to made a comment about sending a negative message to today's youth. I think sending a message "idolizing" an unwed, illiterate, teenage mother is wrong. If she is a role model for todays youth, then there is a problem. And when her singing career is over...what does she fall back on??? But this is for another discussion and does not really address the original poster's comment. Sorry to divert from the original topic at hand.

my sidenote comment: if that was my daughter, I'd drag her azz back to New Jersey ASAP by her hair - I wouldn't give two shingles what America thought of her singing (or lack thereof.)

being the poster you were referring to, i will respond...

again - the Idol producers did NOT vote for Fantasia, America did - therefore, they (AI) did not send the wrong message about "idolizing an unwed, illiterate, teenage mother" ! They are however, IMO, sending the wrong message by KEEPING Antonella in the competition. (which speaks to the original topic at hand) They booted Frenchie. Why? Because she got PAID for the photos she took?? So it's OKAY to show your breasts, as long as you don't get paid for it? c'mon!

do i think Fantasia is a perfect role model? no. but even given her circumstances, i have yet to see her titis all over the internet.

She called the Stern show yesterday.

Here is what she said-

Howard then took a call from Frenchie Davis, the former “American Idol” contestant who was thrown off the show because some racy photographs of her from a few years ago showed up online. Frenchie admitted she’d posed for the pictures – some of them with her breasts exposed – where she was wearing lingerie and that they appeared on a Website she insisted wasn’t pornographic. Upon hearing that, Howard pointed out he could see “American Idol’s” point of view, explaining the show needed to keep its “image.” However, Howard acknowledged he didn’t necessarily agree with that view point, and Robin added she thought the argument was “thin.”

Howard wondered if Frenchie was asked before she was on “American Idol” if she’d ever posed topless, which she responded she was, and that she made it clear to the show’s producers that she had. Frenchie went on to say she was confident she had enough talent to have an established music career without “American Idol,” and added she’d like an apology from “Idol.”

Because a contestant on this season’s “American Idol,” Antonella Barba, who is white, was also involved in an online scandal – even though some of the pictures of her that came out were taken privately, while others weren’t even of her – Howard asked Frenchie if she thought there was any racism involved in the decision, or if she felt her weight had anything to do with it. Frenchie didn’t give a direct response, though, saying she preferred to “give ‘Idol’ the benefit of the doubt.” Frenchie next said she tried to avoid addressing the controversy surrounding Antonella, but that she decided to change her stance after Antonella was allowed to continue to be on the program. Although Robin felt there were important differences between the two scenarios, Howard acknowledged her point, but added he felt Frenchie admitting to producers that she’d shown her breasts in photos meant she should’ve been treated better.
