Friendships
Do you find that you have the all in one kinda friendships
meaning..a person that you go to for everything, you know will always understand and make you feel better
The kind of person who could give you advice and comfort you on anything?
OR
Do you have a handful of people that you go to for the different issues in your life?
meaning...I go to friend A when i am feeling anxious and nutty. I go to friend B when i am having an issue with the DH. I go to friend C for my shopping and fun

I have one person just like that and I am fortunate enough to have her friendship..............hehehehehe you know who you are!

I have one friend that I can go to for anything and she is the one that always supports me 100%. Her relationship with her DH is very similar to the one I have with my DH, so she can understand a lot of my situation without as much explanation.
I have one friend who is like another sister, since she has been in my life for so long. That relationship is a bit more like one I have with my siblings.
I have other friends who are supportive, but in different ways, and I have a whole bunch that I mostly do things with socially, but the relationship tends to be a bit more superficial.

i have just one or two that i can talk about anything with
BUT i am realizing that for the various things that are going on in my life, I find myself going to different people for different things (i.e. advice, vents, to cry with, to empathize with, to have silly fun with)

The gems are the ones you can go to with anything and know that they are totally on your side, but will give you a swift kick in the butt when you need it (in a caring way.)
I definitely don't tell certain friends certain things. Sometimes certain people can get judgemental or protective and are more about fighting for you than supporting you and letting you make your own decisions and mistakes.

This is what I have...my friends fit a "role"...they're not all ones that I go to with everything. That's my sister...she gets everything. My other friends get whichever drama they can help me with or won't get bored hearing!

true...very true
but i guess i am finding a bunch of little gems as opposed to one big one..
Maybe it is more that i am finding that certain people have a level of understanding that others do not...Not saying that makes one friend better than the other....just different.
Although i do have 2 that are that all around person who knows me sooo well that the topic could be little alien men from mars and they would know what to say to me

I "utilize" different friends for different things...sometimes you know someone just can't relate, or sometimes a friend may have an interest of their own...
dh is the only one that gets everything...

handful of people that I go to for the different issues in my life.
In the past I relied heavily on certain friends and felt let down when they werent there for me. Not their fault, I was just a very needy person. Now I know in order not to get attached to any one friend, I talk to certain friends about specific topics. Hope that makes sense.
