Re: frozen breastmilk

I think it may taste different, not sure....they always say to smell it to see if its still good.

Are you freezing them in designated breastmilk freezer bags?

When my DD goes to my mom's house, she relies on frozen bm. I just try to make sure it's less than 3 months old.

Also, obviously make sure its fully defrosted.

Re: frozen breastmilk

I gave about 1 - 2 bottles of frozen breast milk a day - but i would rotate my supply in the freezer and i tried to never make it go over 1 month old. I was doing this for about 5 months.

I didn't notice a change in behavior in DD when she was drinking frozen milk - all i noticed was the color/texture of the milk. The milk had a soapy look to it - but it says in the books that this is normal.

Re: frozen breastmilk

I was told by a lactation consultant it has a different taste, and while trying to get my DS to take the bottle to make sure it was fresh until he got used to it.
