Frozen embies- mothers age question...
Wondering if someone could answer this for me (I hope this isnt a really dumb one LOL)....We currently have 3 frosties...If we decide to try for another child I will be at 35 years old (or more depending on when).... I know that pregnancy risks increase over the age of 35, but not quite sure why ...Being my frosties were technically made from my eggs when I was 33, will I still have the same risks (ex: birth defects etc..) ???...Can anyone shed some light for me on what "risks" there are over age 35 ? And will I face those same risks even though my embryos were frozen prior to me turning 35 ? If anyone can decipher what I just said- that would be great - I was just curious !

No, your age wouldn't matter in terms of the embies because those issues arise from the age of the eggs. Your eggs would technically be 33, not 36, or whatever age you decide to use them. The genetic information inside of them will not change once they are transferred. This is why there are some young women in their 20's who are freezing their eggs for "later use." They are not ready for a baby now, want to focus on their careers, or whatever, but are aware of the issues that arise as they get older, so this is their way of beating the biological clock.
