FT working moms with toddlers in full-day preschool/daycare (spinoff to my sleeping post)-- long
I know we have 5 months to go before this is an issue, but I'm curious.
How many hours of sleep does your child get at night? Do they still nap at preschool/daycare (full-day program)? If so, how long do they nap for?
DD (almost 3 years) sleeps 10 hours at night. In bed by 8:30pm usually, up by 6:30am usually....we have to leave the house by 7am 4 days/week so she has to be up that early (she usually is awake on her own, I rarely have to wake her).
The 3 days she's home with us, she'll generally take a 2-3 hour nap. The other 4 days a week (at MIL's or my friend's house), it's closer to 1.5 hours a day.
She starts preschool in September. Full-day program 4 days/week. They do have a naptime, but I highly doubt she'll nap there....she has to have it pretty quiet to nap.
My post today about her having horrible sleep at night when she misses a nap has me thinking what the heck we're going to do when she starts school if she's not napping. I mean, I know a lot of kids outgrow naps, but how long do they sleep at night? Unless I put her to bed earlier once she starts school, she's still only going to have time for 10 hours of sleep at night really. Is that going to be enough sleep for a 3-year-old? Or will I have to put her to bed earlier? It will already be a busy night with getting her home, bathed, fed & a little playtime if she's home by 5pm and in bed by 8:30pm, you know?

well miki has become a terrible sleeper, on the weekends she gets no naps and usually will sleep 9-10 hours at night
during the week, she naps for abouot an hour and then again get about 9 hours
I put her into bed at 8pm and sometimes, she does not fall asleep until 10

Lucas' bedtime has been pushed out unfortunately because of Gregory but he goes down by 8/8:30 and wakes at 6:30 on weekdays...7/7:30 on weekends.
At home he naps for about 2 - 2.5 hours and at school he naps for about 1 - 2 hours (usually 1.5).
So long as they are getting 10 hours total they should be fine. I believe that is the minimum.
