FTWM do you have a cleaning person?

No, I can't justify spending the money. Plus, I'm OCD about how things are cleaned and I know I won't be satisfied with the job they do.

I don't lose time away from DS - I do it when he asleep. It's become part of my night time routine.

I didn't, but I am on maternity leave with DC #2 right now, and thinking of getting one when I go back to work. I spend a ton of time cooking, it would be nice not to worry so much about the cleaning.

We got one after I had DC#1. My house is big and takes almost 6 hrs for me to clean by myself. I just couldn't do it with a baby and working full time. We have cleaning people come every other week. I clean in between and that's a lot. Now we have a 2nd child and couldn't imagine not having them!

We pay $80 a week and it is the best money we have spent.

We still clean up, throw in laundry, wipe down, vacuum everyday but i use to do the big clean on saturday and it was too much. Id be cleaning till 2. my son naps til at least 430 so by that time im making dinner. Then sunday food shopping there was no time for anything else

Now cleaning person comes friday while we work and on the weekend i do some laundry, wash sheets and im done!

Took a lot of stress off dh and I.

Yes. $90 every other week. We have a large house and can afford it and it is money well spent. It's enough for us to keep up with our demanding jobs and trying to keep things neat and is nice to have help with the deeper cleaning.

Yes and love it. Money well spent... They come every Friday. I still do laundry every other day and dishes all the time but nice to have them come in clean the kitchen thoroughly, bathrooms, do more laundry make the beds and scrub, dust everything. It would take me an entire day to clean

I just let mine go because she was expensive ($125 biweekly for a 3 bedroom ranch) and it seemed like every week something was broken or damaged (my Dyson was broken and no one told us, my new wood floors are all scratched because they pushed the couches back to clean under them, my dark wood furniture was getting huge chips in it at about the level of the vacuum) but it was the best feeling ever to come home to a clean house that I didn't have to clean after working!

I do. It's very helpful and I enjoy having the extra time with DD.

yes. i started by having someone or 2 ladies come every 1-2 months for a deep clean, but even that is not enough and i had to get rid of the girls i was using. i am now seriously considering getting someone to come once or twice a week. between working full time and commuting almost 3 hours a day, i only see dd for a couple of hours a day and i am exhausted. i dont feel guilty for a second- i think the money is well worth the stress it relieves.
while we are on the topic, anyone have someone in the islip/east islip area who they recommend?

No but a clean house has never been a priority to me. Even before having a child .
I am not even sure what a "deep clean" entails and how it differs from everyday wiping up etc.

I am SO domestically challenged!

it is the best money i spend truthfully. a clean house is in my top 5 priorities so i love it! i also use someone i know and trust who is great. my house is super small so most people would laugh but it keeps me more sane and gives me more time with my children. since the house is small it's very affordable too. :)

Right now we are in a 2bdrm coop and my MIL spoils us and cleans when she watches DS awesome I know.

We are moving to a 4 bed, 3 bath house so yes I think we are going to need to get one.

I am out of work early and off a lot so I always felt guilty but with a big house I just think it will too much.

No but I think we're getting to the point... keeping on top of cleaning is starting to really stress me out. I feel like I am cleaning or doing laundry every minute of the weekends when DD is asleep. It would be REALLY nice to actually relax a tad on the weekend.

No, but I really want one. DH is against it, he feels we can do it ourselves. So basically it doesn't get done.

No. I would rather do it when my ds is napping and have an extra $200 in my pocket. Also, I don't want strangers in my home!

If you can afford it do it. I'm still trying to convince DH to get one. He is being cheap and we really could use the money elsewhere but it's made him clean bathrooms. Lol He says hed rather do it on his days off than pay someone. I think we will get one eventually.

I do - we do it once a month and pay 75. If we did every other week it would be 70. I have a small house but I am not a good cleaner. Even with her coming, 2 days later my house is a mess. I am challenged in the cleaning area!

I don't have one, and really want one. I honestly wasn't a great housekeeper before having a baby, and now it's so much more important, since she is crawling around. Unfortunately, we don't have the extra money to justify the expense, so I just have to get better with finding the time. It's hard, because we are always busy on the weekends. There's little free time at home to clean.
