Re: FTWM: Playing outside after work...how do you have time to...
I hose her off outside - bath time done! I kid, I kid.
DD will usually go to bed anytime between 730 and 8. If we're out a little longer, I will just push her bedtime back a little (she's pretty good with being slighty off schedule though).

Re: FTWM: Playing outside after work...how do you have time to...
Thankfully my mom feeds him dinner before I pick him up.
We get home at 6:30, I eat quickly (DH cooks before I get home), and then play time.
DS used to go to bed at 7:30, but he's changed his sleeping schedule. I fought it, but it works better for us now. Now he goes to bed a little after 8:00, so it does give us a little more time together.

Its hard, usually my husband will do it while I make dinner. In the summer it is easier because we BBQ and eat outside. It really is a juggling act!

Re: FTWM: Playing outside after work...how do you have time to...
Thanks for posting this. I was wondering this over the weekend. DS was loving his water table yesterday and with his swing set being put up this week, I’m sure he will to go outside before putting him to bed. Can’t wait until July when baby #2 comes and I won’t have to rush home to spend time with DS#1.

FYI: Im so000 not worried about dinner...I just dont know how to get bath and bedtime ON time when he wants to stay out so long..kwim? thanks ladies!
Would he be ok if you pushed it back?
LOL he'd love it!!! hahah.. what's happening now is..he is so wound up..when we put him in bed at 7:30,,,he rolls around until about 8:00 anyway... Im just scared messing with his schedule ya know!!
I would try 8pm bedtime, since he's not sleepy yet. maybe even push until 8:30 unless it would cause a meltdown. This is a short week, good week to test it. If you just push everything off a 1/2 hour later, he probably wont even notice.
DD doesnt go to bed until 8:30ish, just how she is.
BTW - I get home early and still wouldnt be able to get bath, dinner, bed done by 7:30

Re: FTWM: Playing outside after work...how do you have time to...
I do it with both my kids in about an hour. We are out and about from 5-6:30. I give them very simple food for dinner...
Applegate chicken aple sausage or organic nitrate free hot dogs burger, turkey or buffalo burger chicken cutlet
I microwave a sweet potato and slice or mash with a litte bit of soy milk or mix with applesauce. On Sunday or Monday I cook organic frozen vegges and put the in a baggie in the fridge an dgive them that.
They usually have yogurt or fruit or a special treat-non dairy ice cream, pudding etc.
Most of the meat is precooked, those chicken aple sausages only take about 10 mins in my convection toaster over(best thing ever!)
Then I take them upstairs, they take about a 15 min bath, come back down, get dressed, have milk and watch a bit of teh good night show and off to bed. We read one story and they go to bed.
