Re: Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

I have an 8 month old. Right now MIL is with baby, we are in a two family home so the commute of picking him up is none so that helps us. he will eventually be in day care though and that will change that.

right now I am home between 5 and 5:30, he eats dinner, bath, plays and has a bottle which puts him to sleep usually anywhere between 630-8, not a strict schedule, which I'd prefer but thankfully i can count on him to sleep through the night waking anywhere from 6-7:30am

I get home between 5:30 and 5:45. DH is done with work an hour and half earlier than me do he does the pick up. The evening routine is DH makes dinner, I do homework with DS, pick out there clothes for the next day, showers/baths. All before 7:30 when they get into bed Chat Icon

Re: Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

i am grateful, very grateful that i get home relatively early around 3pm and pick my kids up around the corner @ my sisters house.
we then do an errand if needed, or the park/outside on a nice day, cook dinner while they watch a TV show and play, eat, bath, PJ's, books, and bed. This year DD will probably have homework but not a lot since she's in kindergarten so i will fit that in too.
usually this is the routine from 3pm-7:30 when they are go to bed.
they are 5 and 3.

Re: Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

I pick up DC. We get home anytime between 6-7PM. Most nights I don't even change out of work clothes before I start making dinner. We eat dinner anytime from 7-8PM, and after that it's pjs, brush teeth and bed. Bath happens on those nights we're done with dinner by 7:30-8:00PM. Bed time is 8:30PM at the latest as much as is humanly possible.

Re: Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

When DH is also working, I get home at 6:15-6:30. DD eats dinner at 6:45. If DH is off and I'm working, I get home anywhere between 6:45 and 7:30. She still eats dinner at 6:45. When/what we eat is a crapshoot. She gets her bottle at 8-8:15 and is in her crib between 8:30-8:45. If she gets a bath its right before her bottle.

Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

My train gets in at 610. I pick up DSs when dh is at work, I plan easy meals those days and we eat around 645. I wash bottles after. Baths start at 715, try to get the baby down between 730 and 8, I pack us all up then, toddler watches tv, and toddler goes down around 9. I then shower and am asleep by 10. The day usually starts at 5am.

Re: Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

I pick up my DD at about 4:40 and am home with her by 5:00. MY DH gets home before me but goes to the gym straight after work and gets home around 5:30. I unpack my DD's bags, read her log etc and begin making dinner while she watches TV or plays in her playroom. We eat around 6 and finish by 6:30. I Clean up the kitchen while DH plays with DD. By 7, either me or DH gives DD a bath/pj's while the other packs up her bag for daycare the next day. 7:30 we all sit down and play with DD. At 8:15 my DH takes DD to her room and reads her a book while I iron clothes for the next day for myself and DD. I then go to her room (or she calls for me) at 8:30 and she sits on my lap on the glider and we rock a little bit for about 5 minutes while DH puts all the bags and things I need for work in my car for the next day (except the food bag). I then put DD in her crib and she falls asleep. At 8:30 I take a shower and then go watch TV with my DH until I decide I want to go to bed. Wake up about 6:00 and start to get ready. DD gets up at 6:30 (DH leaves for work at 6:30am) I then get her, feed her breakfast, change her clothes, etc. We hang around until about 7:45 and leave to drop her off at daycare. At daycare by 8:15 then I go to work . Repeat. Chat Icon

Re: Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

I pick up both kids at 4:15 and i get home around 4:30/4:45pm.

Dylan (7 1/2 months) gets his dinner then. Then it's bath time for either him separately or the 2 boys together depending on my mood/time frame.

Dylan goes to bed by 6:30pm.

Feed Jacen (4 years old) at that time. We both eat dinner together.

Bed for him at 8pm.

Re: Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

This is our schedule since I returned from leave. DD is a stickler about her schedule:

Pick DD up at 4:30 - home by 4:45

Dinner at 5 (I prepare it in advance so I just have to heat it up. She gets super cranky if she doesn't eat by 5.)

Play together, maybe watch an episode of one of her shows

Milk at 6:30 if she didn't drink it with dinner

Bath every other night at 6:45 - After bath we get PJs on, read a book, I sing three songs to DD while we cuddle, she says night night to her pony (rocking horseChat Icon), and then in the crib she goes.

Re: Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

Get home 5 ish.

Dinner ASAP. Usually 6.

Spend time with kids til 9 pm.

They both go to sleep at 9. We wash and brush. Pj and last bottle for the 7 month old.

I do bottles and clean 5am before work.

I have little or no me time... I go to sleep early too... But it wasn't working when DS would sleep so early. If I got home late... Once a week, I'd miss his whole day. I now maximize time with them... But have sacrificed self time.

Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

I get out of work @5:30. After picking DS up we are home by 6pm. Since we are currently living with my parents to save for a house, dinner is usually ready when we get home and DS eats right away. After dinner we hang out and play, read and/or watch a show or two on Disney Junior until bath time @ 8pm. He is in bed by 8:30pm. 9pm is the absolute latest. DH gets home at varies times but he is usually home before bath time. If he is home, he gives DS his bath since I get DS ready for daycare and drop him off everyday.

DH and I commute together and are home by 6.15.

Dinner is prepared by our nanny so we just heat it up.

Eat with DS at 6.30/6.45

The three of us play together until 8

bath at 8 (or earlier if he's cranky) and bedtime usually by 8.45-9pm.

I pump after DS is in bed and load the last bottle into the dishwasher....hang out with DH for a bit before going to bed myself. I'm up by 5.30am the next morning.

Re: Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

I get home at 6. DH gets home at 6:30. If nanny prepared dinner, then I will just play with DS until DH gets home. If not, I will prepare a quick dinner around 6:15. We eat between 6:30 and 6:45 and wrap up between 7 and 7:15. Then we play, take a walk, ride bikes, etc. We begin bath time around 7:45, milk and TV at 8, and then brush teeth, read books and bed by 8:30 - 8:45. After DS goes to sleep DH and I finish cleaning before relaxing a bit. I am normally in bed around 10 and start over at 6:30am.
