Ftwm- routine ?-what time do you get home from work

I get home between 5:30 and 6:00. DS has his bottle at 5:45 or 6ish. Playtime until bath. Bathtime at 6:45, in pjs by 7, then I nurse him and he's asleep by 7:30 or 8:00 the latest.

I get in the neighborhood at 5

I go to my moms to pick him up - at that time he is just getting ready to eat dinner.
So I feed him there. By the time I finish cleaning him up and the mess he made at her house all day long it is usually 630-6:45 when we get out of there. I live 5 minutes away from her.

I get home and do my nightly routine - clean up a bit, make lunches, get DS ready for bed around 8 pm.

DS is going through a funky stage right now where I have to lay down with him or he won't go to sleep. So that can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

I go straight into the shower from there. Typically I get on the couch around 915-930. If I haven't eaten at my moms and brought leftover for DH, I make something at this point as well.

DH and both get home at 7 pm, pick up DS from nanny

play with him until about 7:45, then get him ready for bed. One of us puts him to bed at 8, while the other makes dinner

we usually eat about 8:30
from then until about 10:30 we talk, watch tv, catch up and get things ready for the next day

in bed around 11

get up at 5:45

DD is 18 months...

Days DD is home:

I get home at 5:15. DH is home by 4pm. She eats with us at 6:15. Bath immediately after. Play time until 7:45. Bedtime routine starts at 7:45 and DD is down/sleeping by 8:30.

Days DD is at babysitter:
I arrive at babysitter at 515. Get home by 545. DH is home by 4pm. Dinner is at 615-630. Everything else is pretty much the same as above.

It varies day to day depending on what I'm doing for work that day. On an average day, I get home at 6:30. On Mondays and Tuesdays, DH picks him up and on the other days I usually pick him up. DS eats dinner around 7, gets a bath, we play a little bit and then he has a bottle around 8:45 and goes to bed at 9.

Honeslty I don't live by any routine or schedule.
I can't- I'm too much of a mess for that!

I pick DD up from daycare on days she goes to daycare around 6.
Some nights she wants dinner, some nights she doesn't.
She goes to bed by 9 pm.
We eat dinner in front of the TV after that.

Some nights we go for a walk with her in the stroller or to a store.

That's about my "routine"

DH usually does pick up at 3:00. We live in the DC area and many people seem to work earlier hours and get home earlier. DH has clinic 7:30-2:30. On days he operates and cannot pick up DS at preschool, I get him at 3.

I usually go home around 4-5 in time for dinner.

We have SIGNIFICANTLY better work life balance in the DC area. In contrast, when I had DS#2 in NYC last year, DH was working 80+ hours a week often operating after clinic and often operating until midnight. After I had DS#1, my old NY finance job required 60-70 hours a week of work and I barely was able to come home to put him to bed. I did not last long at that job.

I earn less than we did in NYC but everything costs less here. For the same price as a 2 bedroom apartment in Manhattan, we were able to buy a 6,000 sf brand new house.

My Dh and I both get home around 6:00. The girls (10 month olds) eat at 6:30. They play until about 8 and then get a bath and they are in bed around 9-9:30.

I have no routine yet, as today is my 2nd day back at work after maternity leave. I pick up DD around 4:15. She'll be 12 weeks old tomorrow, and we're still working on a schedule, so it's unpredictable whether she'll be napping or content enough for me to cook, or exactly when her last bottle will be. All I know is that I need a nap, and I can no longer do that after work! Can't wait to see my baby though.

3 days a week DH and I get DD from babysitters between 7:15 and 7:45, then go home, I make dinner, we eat, bath every other night, play and maybe watch some Sesame Street and DD is in asleep between 9:15 and 10.

The other days MIL watches DD at our home, I get home around 7 those days and then dinner, bath, play, etc... bed time still 9:15 to 10.

I get out of work at 5pm....everyday is different, but once everyone is home, we have diner by 6:30. Then it's either hang out and play until bedtime at 8 or we do baths if it's a bath night. Then DH and I clean up house and get ready for the next day.

dh and i work in the city and get to my inlaws around 6 pm (if we left work at 5), leave there around 6 30-40 and get home by 7.

eta; dinner by 730, dd in bed by 9. I wanna be selfish and keep her up with me sometimes but I can tell when she's ready

At best:

6:00 I pick up DS
6:15 home
6:30 dinner that DH cooked/reheated/picked up
7:00 I give DS a bath, DH cleans up kitchen/toys
7:30 read books, play
8:00 downtime for DS, hopefully DS falls asleep within 30 min

I iron clothes for next day after bath time, maybe throw in a load of laundry

DS is 15 months old- and the nanny watches him at our house....so no real "pick up" necessary.

I usually get home around 6:15, and he's just getting up from his afternoon nap. We play, eat dinner and read. He gets a bath every other night, and is usually back in bed and down for the night by 8:30. That's when I straighten up, work out and sit down to do work till I crash, usually around 11:00.

On nights DH is home (he works nights), I do my work from the couch to spend time with him.
