fun/romantic things to do in NYC for 1st anniversary
DH and I are going to dinner in the city on Sunday for our first anniversary. We are looking for something else to do prior to dinner. I have looked into a Broadway show but dinner is going to be a pretty penny and another $200 is going to put us way over budget.
I also looked at some off-Broadway shows that we could afford but just don't know what is good.
Can you recommend an off-Broadway play or something else that we could enjoy before dinner?

For our first anniversary we saw the off broadway show "I love you, youre perfect, now change", I thought it was perfect for the occasion!

Check out these sites for discounted broadway tickets. You can save up to 50% off Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.
Otherwise, you could just go to Central Park and walk around & get a carriage ride before going to dinner.

We just spent the day in NYC for our 2nd anniversary. We went to CEntral Park Zoo, took a Horse and Buggy Ride, and went on a 75 minute Circle Cruise past the Statue of Liberty. Then we had dinner at Carnegie Deli (not what I wanted for dinner- but whatev.)

This new area is really nice...I would imagine especially during sunset cause there will be some great views.

A jazz club is fun and not as pricey as a show.
There are sometimes free concerts on the piers...I would look and see what's going on this weekend.

my mom just took one of the open bus tours around NYC and she it was so nice and fun! you get to see things you might not see or even know about.

Try a Circle Line 3-hour cruise around Manhattan. It's on the West Side Highway at 42nd St.

Don't know the price of the tickets since they were a gift, but Toxic Avenger was REALLY good. Diana DelGarmo from American Idol was in it. Highly recommend it. And to really get DH into it, you get to see her in her bra and she has some pretty voluptous boobies.

DH did some research and found great discount tickets for a couple of things...
We need to choose between
Chicago
and
Blue Man Group
I made reservations for after at
Del Friscos
Our favorite restaurant.
OK
So now which should be pick?

Don't think you could go wrong with either show. I only saw Chicago...but have heard great things about Blue Man Group.

how about on top of the rock at rockafella center, or the marriot marquis for after dinner drinks, the bar rotates and its pretty cool

We just celebrated our One year on Monday and this is where we went
Dinner Cruise
I highly recommend this, its basically a restaurant on the water and the views are beautiful, service and food were great. They announced that it was our one year anniversary with champagne toast. It was juat an amazing night!
If you are interested i would call them up because they have promotions that you might not find when you book online...

I saw both, Chicago was a good play, good music but Blue Man was a lot of fun, I would pick Blue Man
